    Reformatting caused by... crystal case?!

I bought a crystal case for my M3 Music Card a week ago and since then the player has reformatted itself when I turn on the player. Is this being caused by the crystal case?

I know that it is possible to reformat your M3 by holding the <> and play button simultaneously for several seconds. Is it possible that the <> button is being held down by the crystal case so that when I press the play button to turn on the player that the M3 thinks I want to format it? Has this happened to anyone else?

If you look at the M3 crystal case you will see that there is a separate circular plastic piece which covers the <> button and allows you to press the buttom while inside the case. This may be responsible for the reformatting problem. Either that, or just a glitch that needs to be fixed another way.

    Can somebody please help?

I hope that it's not the crystal case causing it. I use the crystal case all the time. And my M3 is still as shiny as a new one.

If it started resetting after you started to use the case its probably cause the case somehow presses down the button.
this can happen if the cut of the plastic is even like 0.5 mm off and the plastic gets stuck a bit...enough to press the sensitive button

why don't you try a few days without the case and see if it still happens?

Thanks, Job. I plan on trying it without the case to see if the problem persists. It didn't happen until I started using the case...

EDIT: I just figured out the problem - because the cyrstal case was new and stiff, the small circular cover for the <> button was not moving and stuck which pressed down on the button. Because of this, when I pressed play the M3 formatted itself. In order to fix the problem, I just played around with the <> cover in the case (breaking it in I guess you could say) and now it clicks just fine and I haven't had a problem since. Thanks for your suggestions!
