    M3 review by GenerationMP3

The now well-none french site GenerationMP3 realised a review of the Meizu M3:

    Their conclusion :
"Meizu Music Card M3 is a beautiful small device. Direct competitor of the nano iPod, it briskly exceeds it thanks to a more significant number of functionalities, a very gravitational price and especially an increased freedom (standard USB, UMS, great audio compatibility…). You will thus have understood it, M3 fulfills perfectly its role of audio player. On the other hand, if you want to make use of the video or the photograph, prefer his big brother M6! Even if some see it like a clone of the Apple player, the resemblance is only on the level of the design and still… Us, a possible version 16Go impatiently is awaited."

Yes, that's what they said, but the tester says that with Creative ep630 earphones the sound is so good, without any hiss, contrarily at all its other MP3 players, even its iRiver H320 !

No, but the GMP3 team did (~19h30 with mp3 128kbps, without touching anything)
    Personally, I've a lot of ogg q-8 or mp3 320kbps, so in normal conditions, it's ~15h (backlight timer 2sec and brightness 10)

I think that they could(?) increase the battery life with a firmware update, just like on the M6.

Does anyone know how many mAh the M3 battery is? Because almost all sites says 700, and I have heard that it isn't on some sites.

According to the english manual (http://en.meizu.com/downfile/M3MANUAL0705070.pdf , page 75) the battery is only 460 mAh. I think this sounds reasonable since its a smaller and probobly less energi demaning player then M6, and still the battery life is better on M6.

Your English is OK, don't worry about it
however, try the Iriver Clix2(newest from Iriver) and the M6 both with optimal sound settings. (you will find Iriver doesn't give as much option for optimization as the M6 does)

As a user of both I can tell you the sound of the Iriver doesn't even come near that of the M6(of course i used the same headphones). The high and mids are nice on the Iriver, the low is very much lacking

Strange. I have tried loads of players with 500 mAh(and also iPod 1st gen, 400 mAh) and the battery is from 8 to 12h max on them. :/

I agree with you, it is kind of strange after all. It could perhaps be wrong information in the manual. Another possible explanation is tha tMeizu is very good in optimizing the batterlife in their players. I mean 36 hours for the M6 is very impressive for a 700 mAh battery.

Edit: I think I belive it actually is a 460 battery after all: some simple math: 700/460=0,66
    0,66 * 36= 24

So the estimated battery life should be around 24 hours if Meuzi use the same battery optimization for M3 as they do for M6.
