Artist Album limit

When I go to the Artist menu then look at their albums, the M3 only shows 6 out of the 10 of them (for that particular artist). There is no way to scroll down like I would assume. Is this a known limitation or is there a way to see the rest? All the albums are on the player and will play, but I have to go to the browser, which is ok but I would like to use the main menu. Thanks

Make sure the tags have the same artist name, even a space is a difference. When you go into artist mode, you should be able to select the albums the artists have and then select the songs in that album. Also notice if the tags' names are non-existant, therefore it will be in the unknown artist area.

Thanks for the reply,

I double checked all the artist tag info and they're all identical, but it still only displays the first 6 albums (sorted alphabetically). Hopefully it's something that can be fixed in a firmware update. I also tried removing all the albums and adding them again, but the same problem shows up.

Can anyone else confirm this?

lochnaes, I am not getting this problem. To test this I took 10 random albums, 145 tracks in total - 555MB all Mp3's. I loaded all the tracks into Mp3tag and changed them all to the same Artist name. I loaded them to my M3 Music\Artist\10 Albums. When viewed on the M3 Artist\Album all 10 albums appear. I then did away with the Artist folder and just loaded them Music\10 Albums and still all 10 Albums appear when viewed Artist\Album. I am running Firmware T2.003.4.

Cool, sounds like a problem on my end. I'll do some messing around when I get some time and try to figure it out.

By the way I'm running firmware M3_T2.003.3

Can someone tell me where on Meizu's page I can find the latest M3 firmware? I checked http://en.meizu.com/firmware.asp?myShow=goto&gotoBt=p
but couldn't find it.

==========================

Okay I updated to the latest firmware I found on this forum M3_T2.003.4, and the problem continues.

The artist including all 18 albums consists of 203 tracks.

lochnaes, It is a firmware issue. Following your reply I retested 3 times with 20 Albums, 15 Albums & 12 Albums. In each case when viewed Artist\Albums only 10 Albums were shown.

I tried to pinpoint what the cutoff factor was but the results were slightly different in all 3 tests.

Over the 3 tests the number of tracks viewable in those 10 folders ranged from 128 - 132, size of viewable tracks ranged from 512MB - 516MB.

In all of the tests all tracks were viewable in 9 of the 10 folders and 1 folder always displayed less tracks than it actually contained.

Which albums would not display and which folder would be short seemed to be quite random or at least did not follow the Alphabetical listing. It may have to do with the order in which the files\folders were copied to the player.

Although all this does not help the problem at least you know you are not going mad

Hahaha, thanks! :P For a second there I thought I was losing it!

By the way, where did you find the latest M3 firmware? I checked their page and couldn't find it. I'm just curious if I should watch the forums for updates or their homepage.

Thanks for the help.
