    Volume control glitch?

My new 8gb M3 arrived today, and I installed the 2.003.4 firmware without incident. I then copied over a bunch of music files. I'm able to play music selections (progress bar moves, graphic spectrum display shows output, etc.), but I can't get the output volume up from 0. I get the volume level display, but when I slide my finger up and down the touchpad, the volume doesn't go up from 0, and nothing comes out of the headphones. I have tried multiple headphones without success. The unit is definitely on Play, not Pause. Is there some trick to getting the volume slider function to work, or do I have a defective M3?

Oops, never mind. I checked the Volume Restriction setting, and it was at 0. I slid it up to to top, and now I can hear my M3. Whew.

I see this and have to wonder why installing new firmware set the restriction to 0... really weird.
