M3 able to shedule FM recordings?
Hi all,
I'm looking at the M3 as a replacement for my beloved iriver IFP390 which was tragically killed by a heavy-fingered friend of mine. (I'm still struggling to forgive him)
Anyway I was hoping someone could tell me if the M3 is capable of being programmed to schedule FM recordings, something which would be really useful for me. Can it turn itself on to record then turn off automatically afterwards?
The specs mention "FM recording reservation" so I was hoping this is the function I'm looking for.

As far as I know, no, that's not possible with any of the current firmwares.
It can record from radio, but you have to start and stop recording manually.
PS: Oh wait, you said M3. I was thinking of the M6. But, unless I'm mistaken, they're very close in functionality.

no the M3 is not able to scedule FM recordings. you have to press play and stop yourself i am afraid
would be a nice option though

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsTotally... to be honest I'm really suprized this feature is not more common or at least not more sought after by DAP users epecially now that FM, clock and alarm functions are being built in as standard. In the UK there are some great radio DJ sets each week that I'd love to hear but always forget or am busy.
I know Cowon and Iriver have implimented this feature in their products (maybe not all) so I can't imagine it being that difficult for the makers to allow this function in firmware...ah well maybe if Meizu are listening they will make some changes here in the future....I think, as I'm laying out cash for a new player, this is going to be a make-or-break feature for me.

by the way, you can stop the recording automatically by setting the auto shut down function according to the duration of the fm recording BEFORE you start the recorder function! also remember that you have to plug your phones or any other jack in, otherwise the recording would be all messed up (i.e. 2 hours of static noise)
