    A Couple Of M3 questions

Read some great review but just wanted to ask owners directly, a few quaestions>

Does the M3 allow you to make playlists on the go, e.g Have an add to playlist function? Also if so, must the tune be playing to add it to a playlist?

My tunes are mainly Mp3 @ bitrates of between 192 - 320kbps and vbr too would I be likely to get the quoted 20hrs battery out of the unit playing a random mixture of these bitrates?

Is the shuffle mode, any good, e.g does it play the same songs many times in a session?

Is the fm radio any good?

Does the m3 have any problems reading ID3 tags? does it recognise every part of them?

    I haven't tested playlists yet.

    You won't get the stated 24 hours. It's for 128kbps CBR MP3.

Shuffle mode is pretty random, same algorithm M6. FM Radio is better than on the M6.

I haven't had problems with tags.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

    Sere83,

I'm in the midst of writing a full review of my M3s for our other 'hang-out'...

The play list 'on-the-go' looks to be left to a future firmware upgrade.

I'm using Ogg files at (the equivalent of ) 160-320kbs, and so far I'm averaging around 13-18 hours per charge, depending on how much I 'fiddle' with it during playback, so it stands to reason that a less CPU demanding format like MP3 would fare a bit better.

The shuffle mode works extremely well now that the new firmware allows the player to recognize all of my Ogg tracks, and in a test of 500 tracks, there were NO repeats on my M3 4gb... I'll be testing 1000 on my M3 8gb next week.

FM radio is not something I'd ever use on the player (my SAMSUNG HELIX takes care of all my radio needs), but it does appear to work very well, picking up all of the stations clearly here in Las Vegas.

I hope some of that helps... :-)

I would really like to know how many hours of play the M3 would give if I had mixed bitrates, mp3, VBR, CBR and wma.(MP3, not VBR mostly.) And without changing song and stuff hehe.

    Dima,

Seriously Now... That question is virtually impossible to answer as how could one know exactly the mixture of bit-rates/codecs you have in your music collection.

The best answer anyone could possibly give is that the M3, even in worst case scenario, should give no less than 10-12 hours of music playback.

Okay. Then I might go for the M3 4gb. Battery and sound is the most important thing im out after. I'm also after good browsing and the look of the player. I think that the Music Card is Meizu's hottest player. ^^

I certainly wasn't 'smitten' by the looks until I open the box, and BAM!

That fact that it's so efficiently designed, and so much smaller than it looked in pics SOLD ME!

The 1.5 inch screen is just so visually perfect here, and makes the same size screen looks so WRONG on that other maker's DAP.

It really is a handsome lil' bugger!
