    Meizu M3 First Impressions

Oh my, in my mailbox in perfect time for easter break! :D

    First Impressions

Size - Wow, it's so small and petite - almost girly. It makes the M6 look bulky in comparison.

Menu - There is no video mode in the menu. Video can be accessed in Browser mode and is very choppy. Although it might be able to play 25fps video, it can no way playback at 25 fps at this stage of firmware development - which is probably why video isn't in the main menu yet.

Audio - This point really surprised me. After reading that the S/N ratio would be worse than the M6. In reality, it seems to be better. With my d-JAYS earphones on the M6, I could hear distinct white noise. But with the same phones on the M3, the noise is much less noticeable, perhaps even gone.

Overall impression - This player is just what I need. Small, sleek, lightweight and with great sound quality/clarity. I do not utilize video playback on the M6, so a large screen does not really matter.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

the m3 looks alright but I'll take the m6 anyday. meizu has established themselves as a major competitor to the ipod so i just hope they come up with some brilliant (original) designs in the future and drop the whole ipod cloning bullcrap.

Forgot to mention, the M3 has nothing to protect it. No cases. I think this might be because they are still producing "stickers" for decorating and protecting the player. I don't mind a few scratches, it only shows I'm a seasoned Meizu veteran.

Any questions - feel free to ask! Pictures tomorrow.

    Silicone skins: http://www.alibaba.com/manufacturer/...ayer_Skin.html

I don't really like skins because the bulk they add.

Also, I'm a bit disappointed in the sound now. It turns out there is still white noise with sensitive earphones, maybe a little less than on the M6. What made me believe there was a lot less was that when you pause the song on the M3, it turns off all sound whereas on the M6, you could hear the noise clearly.

Does the M3 have the outer protective coating like the M6 does? The thin invisible layer of protection.

Only on the front, not on the back.

I ordered the White 4gb last week (expecting it any day now), and last night I finally saw the Black 8gb on-line, and ordered that one as well... US 169.00 (189.00 w shipping).

Now If Only They'd get Here All Ready!

You might do well to try out a pair of V-MODA VIBES...

They aesthetically compliment the player very well, and though somewhat sensitive, they're not as much so as the Jays, so there's much less 'Hissing' going on.

The JAYs are nice, and I love the for certain players, but the VIBES are a good match for just about ANY player!
