I didn't want to update my firmware just to use a skin, so I found one that I thought would work with my players firmware( S 2.003.2). This is the skin I downloaded that I thought had the same firmware [ SP & TP] - eMViz 7.6 (DE, EN, CH) V2.003.2

I simply copied the resource.bin file over to the root folder and when I restarted it, it just gave an error saying that the update failed.

What the crap am I doing wrong??

Try again. Is your screen green?

Maybe you are using the TP firmware instead of the SP ?

I've only tried it 7 times, maybe one more time.

No green screen.

I wish so much that I accidentally used the wrong version but thats not the case. The screen shows nothing but the background and I have to remove the resource.bin file and it goes back to normal.

What do you have against updating the firmware?

There is 3 versions of the 2.003.2 firmware.

No way to know the one you've got

And if the skin is made with another version that your firmware, it doesn't work, but it shouldn't fail, only show a grey screen

I said screw it and just upgraded the firmware and now skins work.

I usually don't upgrade firmware because I've seen too many of my friends completely make paper weights of their players because of that, lol.
