How to change m6 SL background ?

I saw a few tools but they were in chinese.

Also what size should the picture be for background ?

If you just want to change the background just copy the images to your PHOTOS directory on the player. Then when you go into the photo browser on your player and view the images if you press the enter button on the image you want to use a menu will appear that will allow you to set that picture as a background to Music, Radio, Record etc.

For background images they should be 320x240.

The top bar is overlapping my picture :x how do i remove that or add my own ? Cauz the color doesn't match with my picture :/

Changes other than background will need the resource editor. Version 1.22 HERE has an English language option (You need to restart the program once changed)

Can you port other skins to your current firmware using this tool also ?

Hm im trying to visualize how to do this....

Step 1: Old firmware with skin i like ( use tool to export images folder )


Step 2: Open new firmware with tool ( delete images folder and import the folder from the old firmware )

Step 3: Just upgrade using the modified firmware.



Is this assumption correct ?

I am not sure whether it is safe for me to copy paste entire folder or it might screw up the firmware.

Also binary is all the fixes in new firmware in there ? :d please advise.

For most of the resource images yes you could swap out almost all images from one version to the next.
There are a few images in 2.004 that have changes though for example the menu selection bar (grey, pink, blue etc) has changed size and is wider than the menu bars in previous versions so you may get some image display problems if you try to load a 2.003 version menu bar into a 2.004 firmware. I think a couple of other images may have changes dimensions as well so just check that images you are importing are the same size as those you are replacing.
