    Game development

Hello guys, after a month or so seeing lots of cell phones, I decided to buy a M8. I'm just gonna save some money to get the 16gb version.

One thing I think the M8 still lacks are games, not a lot of option right now. That's why I'm here, to start a group of game development using the meizu sdk.

I'm a hobbyst 2d artist, I can handle high quality hand drawn illustrations, pixel art and pixel art animation. So forget about vector graphics or 3d.

    What we need is:
    -Programmer (s) (C++ if i'm not mistaken)
    -Game designers (concept, etc)
    -Another artists
    - Composers

Anyone interested? I'm sure there are great ideas out there. :]

The idea is to create games using the touch capabilities of the meizu in a fun and smart way. Meizu is just as powerful as the Iphone, so there's a lot of potencial here.

The games can be commercial or free, i really don't mind at all.

I'm sure there are people interested in the idea here.

    I'll be waiting. ;]

    Andmm,
i do support your project, but i think that it wont be that easy to get support/help as i noticed, most of the people here do not seem to have some programming skills.

Maybe you could contact mooses, see this topic:
How to make simple app? He was willing to develop applications, maybe you could work together.

About the ideas part, ive got plenty of them, but best way is to start with a simple one?

    evow04,
the project you are doing is a bit different or low level. I would like to help porting but I have no knowledge of building embeded FWs(it needs more than programming skills). If something more software related I would be very glad to give you a hand.

    back to this thread.
    Andmm,
I got some programming skills and could help coding. And I also suggest, like evow04 said, to start with a simple game first, it will help the team and also let us to get familiar with M8.

I would suggest to make a flash game. We have a working flash player which supports the acc sensor.
ActionScript is much easier than C++...

i can not agree completly, but like you mention that question is an other topic ;-)

it will be easier indeed, but if i recall correctly the flashplayer is not working 100 pct correctly?
    Or am i mistaken?

it has problems with difficult flashgames and is a little bit slow...

so it could only be a "easy" game like balance ball

I agree, we definitely need to start with a simple game. But I rather use the meizu sdk than the action script, just to get used to it and run the game natively on the m8.

Yeah yunfan, we certainly could use your skills.

It's an unusual plaftorm to delevop a game, but giving a try we can come up with nice results.

But we still need more people.

First question which kind of game you wish to made?

Please start with category - concept - and then programmer can launch rough algorithm and some statistic calculation for game structure. Graphic and animation may came later when all algorithm done
