nicojoy69, no problem

raangu,
do you recall what firmware it was?
Cause as for as i found since 0.9.0.5 fw there is not eboot/bootloader part in the update, so i was thinking that bootloader did not get overwritten.
If you can recall it, it could save me lots of time cause i do not need to dump all the binīs anymore

about the custom ce rom, last week i could not sleep so tried in the middle of the night to build one, i selected all packages but after 1.5 hour compilling it gave a failure so i ignored it and went back to sleep Should try again with minimal packages selected to find the raison why it failed, so if you try take my advice and start with the ones mentionned in the docu pdf files

For the windows ce 6 , it is available on the microsoft download site, same with visual studio that is needed. an other topic somewhere in M& d has download links : i will look in to it.

ps if you manage to compile one i would like to try, cause ce core can be reverted, but i post this info in the ce topic

EDIT see here for download links and how to revert the ce core to deafult :
[project] Windows CE 6

maybe i made a mistake with the Rx pin on the m8, cause those is not allways clear so there is a small chance that i connected my pin to a wrong one and my soldering iron is too big to solder directly on the usb cable connector

My question :
is there any one that has good skills in soldering,
and who has a ttl convertor
and is willing to help me with this/ or could double check this issue?

nixander, thanks to say thanks

raangu, ok thanks, i will try to dump the fw īs then.
Does anyone know where i could find a list of older firmwares ?

The link you provided to the dumper is only to dump the xip.bin files you download from meizu

MaikelRunia, thanks again to bring it under the attention at m8fans!

thank you very much, if i got time this weekend i will dump and check them.

edit:
downloading them now!

edit:
Firmware 0803 does only contains a boot.hv file , no trace on eboot.
I will try later on the 0904 fw !

edit:
the 0904 did not contain it either,
if anyone recalls please share.

Hi treepid,

For extracting files from the firmware you will need to download this first;
firmware_to_files.exe

It contains the needed tools to proceed and a small how-to document.
how it works :
extract the package to a folder, copy the firmware you want to extract in it.
run the dump_xip.bin.bat file, make the option you want,
and wait until the proces gets done.
Thatīs it!

acidrain,
i do not think so, because the hardware is made for using only one sim.
To run 2 simīs at the same time you would need 2 gsm modules inside.

Tecnui,
thank you!
I am going to have a look onto it!

edit:
Tecnui, you are right there is a so called m8 download package, but
could you give me some background info?
Is this an original meizu package or...?
Cause translation seems to provide a bad to understand text.

Next to this, the screenshots provided in the download package do not
look like my upgrade screen, i have no selection box :s

So can some provide me information about it?

If this package is usable i think i should manage to rewrite a part of the firmware to provide an other boot option like uboot so it can launch android orso.
