i noticed that you've done a lot of work on android porting. I now want to do some work on android porting. What should i do first. I have an M8 SE. it seems that the touchscreen can not work properly on it. I now want to turn my M8 to a developing board. can the jtag work OK on my SE. And do u know how to DIY a rs232 cable in order to debug?
Thanks

Thanked 200 Times in 145 Postsbreezenight2008 you need to do some homework.
The mising (or simply not jet known to us) JTAG for the M8SE is one of the main roadblocks in our path.
The Touchscreen driver might be in the development thread (a PEL developer was nice enough to share his patch)
Building a RS232 adapter from relative cheap components is possible but it might be more convenient to buy a already build one if you are new to soldering.Meizu M8 SE - FW 0.9.9.18 (dao89 n450) Dualboot LBE A11 Android 2.2

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsIndeed, aswell with the Serial debug on the SE: we need to find this out ASAP!
Last night when I couldn´t sleep I came up with a theory:
We have the rumours that SE should have TV-out, the only way to do this would be over the USB plug due the development of the parts on the SE.
This might be the reason i can´t detect any serial reading on my SE.
When looking closer to the SIM socket on the SE I notice a group of 4 pin´s (similar like on FE) & a group of 6 pins.
My guess is that group 1 is serial debug & group 2 is Jtag .. (other pins might be other debug lines like Banxian has stated in the other thread)

Currently I am focusing more on an other dev project for the work, but once´s done i will try to make my theory a fact (or if someone want´s to try it for me be my guest).
DIY a rs232 cableYou might have a look here but if you are from china (i think you are) You might find some cheap converters in some shops near you?more convenient to buy a already build one
Keep in mind that like i mentionned SE has an unknown Serial port so you wont get far for now...
touchscreen can not work properly on itIf needed I can upload it. What kernel do you use that TS doesn´ work? (I thought only RE had PEL)Touchscreen driver might be in the development thread
