Original UI with new SMS functionality.

I must admit that I loved the old 0.9.3.18 firmware. For me, it was reliable and did everything I wanted. Amongst other things it allowed me to make phone calls, sync my contacts and calendar and listen to my music. My only problem was due to my not so young eyesight I had problems reading SMS.

For this reason I have loaded NewUi 0.9.7.7. I must say I'm not impressed. Sure the SMS is fantastic to read, but that's about it. The calling screen is horrible and looks "cartoonish" with its big orange look and small picture. It reminds me of an old 16 colour vga display from the 1980's.

My request is there anyone with the knowledge or inclination to import the latest SMS functionality into the 0.9.3.18 firmware?

Lol back to the basics when we had a back& white or green/white or orange /white monitor would be fancy i think :-)

Anyway you could try to extract the sms firmware parts from the closest version with the new ui?
Try implementing it with the mpack tool from banxian?
