Well u are right, the win7 will be FAIL after all, my budy have HTC Suround and it is crap when u compare it with motorola milestone or samsung galaxy S. That phone won't survive all utill there are Android and iOS.

without a mod on wince7 kernel there won´t be a windows phone 7 build for m8, sorry. You can notice that building a custom android rom is a pain in the ass, so it´s not more then logic that there won´t be a wp7 soon.

Ok, I like the Ui in WP7

On xda developers I've seen that they get WP7 ported to HD2. That means that they have a ROM, or? And a good programmer (which I'm not) can use it to build a CustomRom with drivers for the Meizu, so I understand is that right?

At this time Android is to buggy for me. At home I get in the internet about my Meizu and I must charge my phone three times un,der Android with the Win CE just one time in the night:D

I hope (if it run) it could much better in WP7 because the driver from Win CE.

I understand, android for m8 isn't mature since it would need some more developers to see real/fast progress, but with m9 knocking on the door I don't see that happen..

I thought I've read that the wp7 ported rom is based on a rom similar to the hd2, so the reversed the drivers (based on win mob =so wince 5?) to get an unstable rom for it (see it like our android rom).

So basicly if you manage to reverse the m8 ce drivers (can't be hard, you can even use the android source as guideline for doing this),
then port it to a wince7 version .. you might obtain a working wp7 rom that you can flash over using m8's stock bootloader since wp7 also uses eboot like (btw : wp7 fw rom is also a xip.bin file).

that would be nice but with all this M9 comeing stuff we wont get the 90% working android for M8, and shure we won't get the WM7 working on meizu so if u can do anything by yourself let us know

During Christmas I met a friend who is in an engineer school in Paris. He managed to install WM 6.5 on Meizu M8SE but it was just a test and nothing worked apart from the screen we could only see WM asking us to calibrate the screen...
So porting 6.5 should be easy, we only have to add the drivers, and wm7 should be possible too...

That's great news But if it was really so easy, people would already made a port from Windows 6.5 i think
    But good luck

Well I don't know if it is really easy but is must be possible as I've already seen Windows CE devices on which some ported WiMo, only with a few days of developpement...

I'm quite a noob about phone processors and so on, but from what I understand we already have drivers for WiMo in Win CE as binaries, so can't we only do a "copy and paste" of them in WiMo? Or paste the WiMo files directly in the M8?

Even if WiMo 6.5 is not better than 7 it can be a good starting point

Ok I'll see what I can do this could be an interesting project. But I haven't much time as I'm already working on other projects.

But I'd like to have some information on how a M8 can be bricked as I don't want it to get bricked because my father wouldn't let me buy a knew one... :s

I couldn't find any interesting posts on bbs so I search a little on the Internet and I have a problem : no Windows Mobile runs on WinCE 6 : WiMo 6 runs on WinCE 5.2 and WiMO 7 runs on WinCE 7 so it's going to be a little more difficult...

well there are thousand ways to do that

no Windows Mobile runs on WinCE 6
face it; due the android port all main drivers their source can easily be obtained. So a decent win mo developer could port it regardless the needed kernel, but it has no use since the os became useless nowadays... and for wp7 the m8 isn't having the right specs.

Sorry if i sounded negative but that's the reality atm, if you have any knowledge or programming skills you might turn your head towards android.
That os has more future for the m8 since the used soc is still average in the mid segment of current android devices.

anyways, here is an old thread on meizume concerning wm 6.1: Somebody port WM6.1 to M8 show some photo (chinese)
