Is the M8 powerful enough to run PSP games?
How much do you know about programing?
Are you creating an emulator from scratch or porting an existing one. Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

Oh, damn................this is PSP not PS one............better I read next time exactly the words...
That looks really great..

How will you controll the games? Gravity, Bluetooth GamePad, Onscrren-Buttons?
There gives a PSone Emulator for Windows CE and run on Meizu too...
We have only a problem to use the emu-buttons...but I have found some way to use it, I collect many Information and must sorted out...
I have a little App to change the ini for own On-Screen Buttons for every Game thats running..
I can change the Disk by games there have more then 1 CD
I have a save-state option(registerd Verion)
What I need is a Designer who can create me a skin and then perhaps we can use the Emulator full...

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts1. are there games in which you need to press 2 buttons simultaneous? if yes, maybe you could add 1 button for X and O and one botton for || and \7.
2. are you sure youll get gravity sensor working? if yes, can you make it less sensible? because in other emulators the gravity sensor is too sensible to play easy

PlayStation Portable Technical specifications
Most of the hardware in m8 is better than in the psp.....
....the only thing that makes me worry is the GPU!

YOu know, as software engeneer is say:
Do you have a clue what a shitload of work a running PSP emulator would be?
You should be a very very professional programmer with huge experience in hardware programming/reversing. And i think you should need a very skilled team with lots of time.
But im looking foward to use it when its done.
PS m8 hardware specs _MIGHT_ be suitable. But psp has a dual processor (hughe performance boost) and emulation is always slower than running sth. direct on hardware. And oh. psp has a MIPS cpu, m8 a ARM cpu so no dreict hardware execution.
All in all: sorry to say that, but dream on.

Hi People,
If we look too the Android project, They are really far .
And if we want too make this dream come treu, we need too do everything
we can.
About the the grafity control i want that people can set it too high sensitive and too low.
And maybe we can use the m8 as a steering-wheel if we play a race game.
And I will do everything too make this come
treu.
Have a nice day
you guysLast edited by mitchy-limy; 03-15-2010 at 05:00 PM.

Thanked 138 Times in 53 Postsit doesnt struggle with ps1 games because they are too complex. M8 has a powerfull 2d/3d acclerator. It struggles because of the emulation.
See, the emu needs to look what this is for an command in the exe, then it looks which command(s) from the actuel cpu are suited best for this and then it executes those commands. So the time used for psp to execute one built-in command would be much more work for an emulator.
And such things like simulating hardware/ram/sound interfaces are not counted in.
The m8 struggles with gba games if you choose the right ones. I think i can get it to struggle with dos games in dosbox.
Emulation is a very complex and difficult enviroment.

Thanked 200 Times in 145 Postsi agree 100%.
There is a N64 emulator on the PSP no one said to be possible but the programmer did not let himself be discouraged and it is quite usable with some games now.
But it is hard, hard work to make such an emulator from the scratch, even harder if you have to emulate a processor.
If you think you can bear the ridicul of the other programmers and have the experience/endurance to write or adapt an emulator it is a very interesting project.
At the moment i would say the chances of a working PSP emulator on the M8 are quite slim.Meizu M8 SE - FW 0.9.9.18 (dao89 n450) Dualboot LBE A11 Android 2.2
