Hi guys...
I want to only modify my existing xip.bin [for latest official FW]... that is I want to just replace some dll and exe files in the existing xip with my own; and then load it onto my device.
Ive got all the modded files and Ive read through the forum on porting Andriod to M8, but getting confused as I don't want a dualboot system... just modify the existing xip.bin.
I got mpack, and used it to extract the stuff i wanted to mod.
I see it can also replace files, but not sure how to rebuild the package.
Is mpack alone, enough to just replace and rebuild the xip.bin file?
I'd greatly appreciate if someone could provide the steps to replacing and rebuilding the xip file using mpack.
Cheers.

i think mpack is enough. you just have to replace the modded files. normally you´ll see changes on the "last saved date" of the xip.
copy your original and try it.
do you want to create a theme or a translated fw?get a Nexus and be happy...

Thanked 50 Times in 20 PostsI want to create a new theme [replacing the original dll and exe files in the Windows folder with ones I have modded myself]...
Not changing any code or even the language translations from the originals ...just the image files.
So, mpack cant do that without screwing up the xip.bin?

You can also edit the registry so it boots on wlan/edge/english etc. Just as you want
