Thanked 26 Times in 19 Posts[REVIEW] MSI BGP100 Bluetooth GamePad
I got my Bluetooth GamePad today and would like to tell you a little bit about this device.
This is how the package looks like and the things that were in the box

Installation
The installation looks like its easy at the beginning but..still it got me some minutes to figure out what i have to do to get it working with the programs i like to.
If you want your Gamepad working with the Meizu M8
1. download the driver frome here Meizu Me - Downloads - MSI GamePad Driver
2. Put the two files MSI Config.exe and MSI GamePad.dll somewhere in your disk folder
3. Power on the GamePad then go on your M8 in the Bluetooth manager and search for the new device - setup the connection
4. Now start the MSI Config.exe and klick on the MAC address to activate the GamePad [mac address colour changes to light blue] and minimize the running MSI Config.exe by klicking on the bottom right button or double klick the M button...everthing else shuts down the config and the activation gets lost.
5. Start the program you want wo use the GamePad with and now it should work..[program must allow external imput]
Review
After the Connection between the GamePad and Meizu M8 is setup I tested the device with the two Emulators MiniSNES and the FpseCE. Both Programs support the GamePad so only few or none tweaks had to be made to be able control in the games. The MiniSNES emu worked at start and the controls were ok. There is no noticable delay between pressing the button and the reaction in game..at least not that it jeopardize your gameplay.
The FpseCE emu worked great after a made some tweaks. I played GTA some minutes until the emu crashed and till then it was quite fun...nearly fluent gameplay..

The GamePad itself is bad quality. The used materials feels very cheap.
The bottons have a very bad key stroke. Sometimes a direction key stuck and trigger only in that direction so you have to press it several times to release it.
Well on the other side...this kind of control is still much better than the touchscreen layout of the pad deliverd by the Emu.
Tweaks
To use the buttons in FpseCE I had to change some values in the game INI
This is the button configuration of the GamePad
A = c1 ; 193
B = c2; 194
C = c3; 195
D = c4; 196
UP = 26; VK_UP
DOWN = 28; VK_DOWN
LEFT = 25; VK_LEFT
RIGHT = 27; VK_RIGHT
L = 74; VK_F5
R = 75; VK_F6
START = 0d; VK_RETURN
The interesting values are the numbers...and those i had to add in the game INI.
As you can see in the pictures the M8 does not fit in the GamePads frame so its very loose in that position and you have to hold it from the back to stabilize it

Final Words
I paid ca. 25$ and orderd it from a online shop wich resides in china...For that money you get a OK device...something you can work with..but dont have to much fun...since its low quality disturb you quite often during playing.
unluckely the tax office towed my package so i had to wait 2 weeks extra to get it. Funny story is..tax office thought the GamePad was 250€ of value..

EDIT:
ginkyo was so kind to translate the MSI Config.exe..
here you go..now in english

Thanked 26 Times in 19 Postsok jcinside...i try to..
for example...lets say you would like to play grand theft auto..
in that case you have to start that game once..so that there is an GTA.ini in the CFG folder where you installed your fpsece program..
open to edit the .ini on your m8 or transfer it to pc and open with notpad or similar...now you have to edit some lines
go to the [JOY0KEY] section of the file and edit the up=xxx , down=yyy, triangle=zzz, etc.
the values you need are in the first post
in that case you modifid the emu to work with the game GTA..
if you edited the file on pc...copy this modified ini back on your m8
you want to use this button configuration in every game you play..then you have to edit an other file...and this file is the "fpse.ini" which you find in the main folder of the fpseceLast edited by lilM8; 01-26-2010 at 06:54 PM.

if you edited the file on pc...copy this modified ini back on your m8 -> to the CFG-Folder.
you want to use this button configuration in every game you play..then you have to edit an other file...and this file is the "fpse.ini" which you find in the main folder of the fpsece -> to have effect in the games when you changing the fpse.ini, you must delete the inis in the CFG-Folder.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsSorry but I have a problem with my BGP100, I pair my gamepad correctly in bluetooth manager, after I run MSI_config.exe, I click on the mac adress, the mac adress become blue, the gamepad led blink twice and my bluetooth icon on the meizu become white, but after 1second this icon become grey and the gamepad led light like there is no connection. I have found a BBS subject with the same problem but I don't understand If the problem was solved : LBE助手连蓝牙手柄设置(页 1) - 软件中心 - 软件发布区 - [魅族论坛] - Powered by Discuz! Archiver

Thanked 26 Times in 19 Postsby checking all eventualities id say this has something to do with the gamepad driver stored in the .dll file..
since the gamepad works on pc without problems and all other things works fine...it has to be the driver on the m8..
but the chances are very low till none..that there will be an new driver..
