SMS and contacts databases

hi.
i just noticed that the files contats.db and sms.db and all the other db files on the m8 are SQLite3 databases.
These can be viewed and edited with this tool for example

i dint know what you can destory there, but i think its a good starting point for maybe a sms backuo software or something.
And i think contacts can be edited there easeier.
Didnt tried if it works to edit them, just had a quick glance about the files.

Any idea how to edit the registry of the m8?

I know there are some tools out there for editing it via cellphone but I would appreciate it to edit the registry on my local pc

Look up Mobile Registry Editor, it works for M8 if you connect it via ActiveSync.
