Looks amazing, hope that it actually delivers though, but if it's from Cowon, there's a small chance of that.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsNice player.
It has a big brother, the Cowon O2

It will have a 4,3" display with 480 x 272 pixel.
It will be released a 8gb and a 16gb version. Later maybe a 32gb either.
A dualcore processor sounds pretty cool :D

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsDo you mean to say that Cowon might not come through? That's weird, because the D2 is seen as one of the best sounding and highest-quality players in the market today. Plus, like the D2, the S9 has a Flash UI interface, meaning that it's completely customizable by people who know how to work with Flash. There are probably about a 100 or so custom themes for the D2 out right now, all of which will probably be easily ported to the S9, with small adjustments to account for the bigger screen.
I'm definitely getting this when it comes out. I don't really care that it doesn't have an SDHC slot like the D2. I may get the Meizu M8 as well, but at this stage am pretty sure that by the time the M7 comes out, the competition will be WAYY ahead.
Cowon Germany suggests an EU release date of October/November 2008, and they're pretty good about releasing stuff on time. A US release can't be too far behind.

I didn't mention Cowon O2 as an alternative to M7 as it's a player even more powerful than S9, but it doesn't have the capacitive screen (this is to not use mutitouch Apple term?
)... as it probably will have M7.
IMO O2 is really the new D2 (so called the D3) but many people see it as an A3 successor due to the size of the screen. This is wrong as O2 is a flash-memory player while A3 is an HDD player.
Dualcore processor have been used by Cowon since D2 which is based in Telechips TCC 7801 which sport 2 ARM9 processors. In case of O2 it use a TI DaVinci processor the same as in all HDD players of Cowon. S9 uses or a newly designed Telechip or a RMI Alchemy AU1200... information about this haven't been given yet. Dual core is to give more power mainly to sound and screen management.
Due to this is why Cowon players are so expensive they put in their devices the latest in each field and they strength the quality of the components.
I have had a D2 (thanks to Madman) for half a year now and it's simply the best player of the market in his range (flash-memory players)... S9 and O2 will be so too... that's a bet!!!

I don't see how the P2 relates to the iPod Touch in ANY way.

The only reason for a M7 to exists is to be a little brother of M8... in the relation of iTouch with iPhone... then it should be a screen like M8 which is 3.5" if I'm not wrong. A bit bigger than Cowon S9.
But... Meizu surely knows that their only presence in the market can't be M8 M6 and M3... all this devices a bit ancient right now... M8 have become ancient due to this year-long story.
To not announce a new player could be the vanishing of Meizu as the best manufacturer of MP3 of China... at least the best know outside of China... I'm not sure if Archos is from China (but is a very strange company normally not considered in the flash-memory players).
Other manufacturers like Teclast, Onda... not so know outside Chine.. have announced several new products during the time Meizu have been dealing with this ubiquitous M8.
Id it weren't by the quality of M6, M6SL... and M3 (I can磘 recall another model of Meizu)... Meizu should have disappeared as a respectable brand... Meizu have some notoriety... the only Chinese maker mentioned in CNET here and is considered in dedicated forums... but this won't last so long they didn't make an announcement like this of Cowon

M8 isn't ancient. It's a top of the line phone with a 720x480 LCD. The price is very, very good and you won't find another phone that is this good (there isn't a phone that has the specs of the M8) for under $400 (that's unlocked).

Phones with a contract are for dumb people, I say this very frankly because those who got the iPhone in Canada with a 3-year contract basically screwed themselves over, since we all know how many "improvements" that were supposed to be in the previous version Apple will implement in the iPhone 3.0. Oh yes, and did I mention that it will go on sale quite soon? And no one will get a rebate?

Dumb people is buying the damn iPhone here in my far country in a very impressive way... it can't be other way prices are unbelievable:
iPhone price US$ 100 and 24 month of US$ 60 here ...
for 400 mins use

The iPhone's GPS is somewhat of a scam, since you basically need unlimited data for receiving Google's maps, since the iPhone doesn't have them on-board.
*Back on topic*
The Cowon seems like it will be the first portable device to use more energy from the CPU than the backlight.
