    hahaha don't be silly, nobody is comparing them... what I wrote are simply facts both are Telechip with Wolfson.
    No idea of what is teclast t39. I am a happy owner of a Cowon D2 together with several Chinese players a Teclast C260 among them.

    If it don't have ID3 tag browsing then that was not implemented in TCC 8200. To see the similarities you can go to this page or this ... after taking a chill pill you will noticed that looks very similar (if you know how it looks a D2 if not you can go here)

    Excuse the bad quality of T39 pictures

    I played around with one of these today. It's really small. The Rockchip doesn't have enough horsepower to run the interface smoothly...but smooth enough as we're talking an $80-85 player. Frankly the Wolfson 8987 is used in all kinds of players from China, so the audio quality is much of a muchness to me. Video looked good, but I prefer the 2.8" AMOLED they used on the M30 to this 2.8" WQVGA touchscreen. Being 16:9 and only 2.8", the screen seemed too small & narrow. I realize it's mostly an optical illusion, but wish they could have gone with a full 3" like the Samsung P2 as I think my perception would be different with that little bit of extra real estate.

    didn't mean to sound confrontational, it's just you said they were in the same league so ithought you meant that they were of the same quality. I see what u mean now though about the similar hardware used. The interfaces do look quite similar, I originally thought this was because teclast ripped the D2 interface but I suppose if the both use telechips this may have somthing to do with it.

    I suspected as much. The touchscreens on chinese players are often poorly implemented. In some of the videos you can see it's certainly not smooth like an ipod touch. I too think that widescreen 2.8 is a bit too small. For me 3.4/3.5 is the optimal compromise between portability and enjoyable extended video watching. I would say the ipod touches from factor is close to perfect.

    @sere83...

    I understand your point and I won't be confrontational either... I really appreciate your comments despite that sometimes I don't agree with you

    I think that not necessarily Teclast have ripped Cowon D2, interface is core chip dependant, this means that Telechip develop certain menus that the device have to use.
    You can see this interface dependency in Rockchip devices which all have the same structure according with model of chip.

    @chengdude

    Your precise review deals exactly with the core of the problem: Teclast devices are less expensive than Meizu and even less than Cowon, so the user has to expect what he have paid for.

    Rockchip devices are of low price and support lots of formats (T50 is really impressive in this point). But this devices will never display cover art as this requires more horsepower, ergo a more expensive chip. Rockchip surely uses a cheaper battery.

    M7 will be a more complete device but will cost twice the price of a T50, then it surely will have a more powerful chip to support all the functions that supposedly it will have and corresponding battery have to be more costly.

    Cowon D2 is a very expensive device but have more functionalities than any other PMP available in the Market..

    At the end all is matter of prices.

    China.

    The Rockchip is not bad per se, but as usual Chinese manufacturers always seem to be focusing on the wrong things. Now it's a race to show all the capabilities the Rockchip can support: touchscreen, TV-out, multi-codec support, "shake-it" interface, text-to-speech, etc. Real useful stuff like ID3 tag browsing, album art, and a smooth GUI that actually does what it says all kind of get lost in the gizmo race.

    You can also see the difference the extra MHz makes if you look at the SmartQ T5-II: the ADI processor runs that GUI really, really smoothly. Like the AMOLED of Teclast's M30, I also prefer the look of the SmartQ's 3" LTPS screen over the touchscreen on the T50...much brighter and sharper. I know touchscreens can have their own set of issues, but screen quality has to be one of the compromises they made to keep the T50's price so low.

    no album art browsing but it can read embedded art or a jpg in the same folder, for a cheap chinese player this is a major step 9apart from meizu) of course, but album art browsin qould be cool, not bothered about it working like iphone, i think the player would not be able to handle that, but at least thumb browsing would be good, but its taken them a hile to get this far so we should be grateful, yet to try it myself ut cant wait

    damn thats good, what they need now is the album art browsing!

    Oh btw adam, how is the sound quality of the T50? does it sound similar/"better" than whatever meizu device you have? and also is there an audible hiss during quite segments of your music?

    Looks Nice, But I Think The Quaility Might Be Not Very Nice, Couse I've Ever Bought One Mp3 Player Of This Brand, But It Doesn't Work Well....
