i don't like the touchscreen design at all... now that i think of it they shouldn't release the M6SL, only the M6SE, and the M7 could be something really new...

It is a lot longer. I like the size of my M6 just fine. Perfect for the pocket or purse and the screen size is good enough for me.

It's got a 2.8inch widescreen LCD it is bound to be longer. +1cm will make it the same lenght as the Nano, you won't mean you have to buy a backpack for it.

I hope the m6SE or M7 or whatever the name will be will look similar to this
If they use touch screen it doesnt even mean the player has to be bigger then the M6 as they can use the M6's tpuchstrip surface too

This sucks! Release the M6SE AND an M7. PLEASE! Someone should tell that to J. Wong there.... You can't use a touchscreen player inside a pocket, or anywhere unless you are holding it in your hands with the screen on looking right at it. LOTS of people use mp3 players at their jobs and can't take the player out of their pocket every time their have to adjust the volume, pause, or choose the next or previous song.

Not entirely true, it all depends on how the finished product is designed for instance the Cowon D2 which is mainly touch screen controlled has 3 buttons Vol+, Vol- and Menu which you can set for specific functions when the Hold\Lock is active so you can use it blind to change the volume, Pause\Play or skip to the next track.

True, but I just got my M6 and am desperately trying to convince myself that I don't need another player. :D

I like the idea of an M7 instead of an M6SE. Touch screens are definitely the way forward, I would like to see some kind of remote with these devices however and some connectivity (wifi or blutooth). Also, the fact is the market leader (Apple) has shown their cards which means meizu should IMO attempt to offer some equally or more advanced features in their products. A 2.8 inch screen to me seems pointless. The viewing experience on such a small screen is very limited at best. If I was meizu I would use a 3.4 inch screen like the m8 so the m7 can stand up next to the ipod touch. Meizu already has 2 models the m3 and m6 to rival the shuffle and the nano. And if your going to the effort of implementing high res 30fps video playback why bother putting such a small screen? For mr Wong to go ahead with what appears to be a standard chinese dap with a touch screen at this stage in dap evolution seems pointless to me. It will be outdated before it even hits the shelves. The smart Q T5 which I have just ordered, already has the majority of the proposed M7 (M6SE) functions minus the touchscreen:

Wow, you don't buy a Meizu but buy a product by some random Chinese company. Nice.

Seeing it's based in Beijing, the player is most likely OEM:ed. Enjoy.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

after my Hacha r280s player broke I needed a cheap flash solution to my video needs. After experiencing 24fps on a 2.8 inch screen (using the Hacha) I found the experience to be reasonable but not great, and the hacha firmware severely lacking. Unfortunatly IMO I think that the 20fps video on a 2.4 inch screen provided by the meizu m6 is not really good enough when my main reason for purchasing the player is for video, the m6's video functions are secondary to its audio facilities. I've said I would like an audio player to replace my Sony NW-HD5 but do not want to buy an M3 until they fix the track skipping issue as I listen to many live sets and tracks with no silence at the end. So I attempted to find a player with a slightly a larger screen and better video capabilities (specifically xvid)......so where to look?........clearly china. The SmartQ T5 recieved some highly favourable reviews from imp3.net and seeing as the company only has 2 players on the market with regular firmware updates it seems like they are quite focussed on product development unlike other chinese companies that simply churn out endless models with similar specs. The video support is as follows:

    AVI XVID/DIVX3.11: 640x480 @ 30 fps 1000Kbps MP3/AAC/AC3
    RM/RMVB: Real Video 9/10 D1 @ 30 fps 900Kbps Cook/AAC
    MPEG: MPEG–1 352x288 @ 30 fps
    3GP: 320x240 @ 30fps
    FLV: 320x240 @ 30 fps (VP6/H.263)

now when you consider that this costs 799 yuan and no other dap (not PMP) I am aware of has anywhere near this support for video playback, I am willing to take the risk. Plus I like to support smaller companies. Not to mention the 600mhz processor speed, photo zoom/rotate functions, SD card/emulator support and OGG, FLAC, APE, WMA,WAV, ID3 support and recording functions, which are all bonuses (for me) on top of the video playback options. It also recently recieved a firmware update enhancing RMVB support. My expectations aren't too high though cos a spec list means nothing until you use the player itself. I will be keeping my fingers crossed. I will be showing meizu a lot of love next year however and if all goes to plan and the reviews are favourable I will picking up an M8 and possibly an M7 and perhaps even an M3 if they fix the track skipping issue.

Touch screen is really a nightmare whether is used fingers or a pen... pen of course is the worse solution as sooner or later the screen will be scratched.
Fingers are simply DIRTY... horribly DIRTY!!!... I use lots my black M3 and I have to carry all the time a soft piece of cloth, preferable wool, to clean my fingerprints over the dirty surface.
I do have too a Teclast C260 too which is also... black... the same issue... all the time cleaning the damn device as I don't like the grease of my fingers on its surface.

All this due to that the omnipresent Apple wanted to use touch screen... F**** THEM!!!

I will never buy other black touch screen device... as simple as that.
Controls of iPod are simply the best of this world... I dislike to accept it!!!
