Sere83.

I congratulate you by your smart choice of SmartQ.
I was visiting their site and review their products (2 products so far). By what I saw there I was really impressed, products seems to be nice and competitive. In any way they are selling others manufacturers products, let's say that I can feel that they are producing those 2 devices.
I don't speak Chinese so I take my time translating through Google to give a look to what they offer. Support is awesome, allowing users to download firmware and some other stuff. Also technical support looks nice and assertive.
Presentation is neat clean and elegant. I just hope that their products are so too.

I think that they are sort of starting Meizu company, probably things will start going wrong if they grow too much.

Meizu is also an excellent company and in my humble opinion they are adjusting themselves after a sudden growth. Due to this some issues not solved are still annoying their fans, like me, but is just a matter of time. Meizu is also neat and clean, offering a good support to their customers. Awesome firmware with some bugs for the moment, and always available for their users. And for me, the best sound available in this market.

Again, IMHO, to enter in this silly race to offer a cell phone mixed with a PDA was a bad move, full of challenges hard to solve, and which distract resources that should have be devoted to fix the well consolidated prestige by their awesome products. Now the strategic move by Apple has put a problem not easy to solve.

To compare both companies is a good exercise. let's see how the products of SmartQ really is (they don't use touch screen ... cool!!!).

I bet it is as good as it seems

Thanx DaremoS! I hope it will be a good player too, as you have said the company looks proffesional and have good support with regular firmware updates and a focus on product development. At this stage the only problem I can forsee with this player is that the screen resolution may be a bit low. Will have to wait and see, I'll put a review up when it arrives!

Yeah, though it seems pretty dead set the picture they showed will be it... just like when I saw the first pics for the M3, and they held the design your own contest that was supossed to last a few months, but then suddenly, a few weeks to a month before it ended, they announced the M3 design, which was the same as the first concept pics, except the bottom of the pics weren't cut off anymore.

I regularly use the play/pause, volume, ff AND rw buttons and have to feel when I press them and feel where they are, so I couldn't use it worth crap unless those are all buttons.

There is no information about the number of colours... geez the other model is 65K colours which is really low.
I suppose that you will have to do the review in www.MyMpxPlayer.com as is not a Meizu device

I think it is apparent from the image that JW's Photoshop skills are more akin to using Microsoft Paint otherwise he could have knocked together a propotional GUI in minutes but he has just pasted and stretched an M6 GUI image to fit.

He also seems to have used one of the early M8 design concepts as a base.

Here's hoping as JW has commented that the final concept will be a lot more appealing but I guess we will just have to wait and see. As you have pointed out with other players like the Creatve Zen around and emerging we won't be spoilt for choice if it ends up being a potato.

JW gotta be joking man..I was all along waiting for the m6se, which mentioned much earlier it gonna be like the m6 physically and now they change the name and the whole design.............*sigh*................ I feel my wait had been wasted and I reckon he shouldn't keep releasing news on a product based on his imagination and later altered almost entirely to make it into reality.
He should at least release 2 different products or Never so eager to release fake news.

I agree it would be great to truly have an M6SE. I am glad I picked up an M6, but was really excited to get an M6 with 30fps video and video out capabilities (even if it had to be a little bigger). I have no interest in an iPod Touch clone.

Yeah... that's the M8 minus phone if that's the next photo. And I know, madman, I kinda got that seeing the M6 screen stretched over a rounded rectangle. At least this design has some buttons, but I'd preferred the M6 design with the functions they promised. It's like they just decided to scrap it because it would be easier to just copy their M8 and take out the phone, change the case a little, and you're done. Cheap... real cheap. I hope they are changing that.
