(JW) Possible M7? Perhaps.....
On Meizu BBS today J. Wong uploaded a "casual" photoshop of a player he referred to as the M7, sporting a 16:9, 3inch touch screen. Although from the image it appears to be nothing more than an idea at this stage could we be seeing a new player in the pipeline?

Today on Meizu BBS J. Wong hinted that the preposed M6SE may possibly be altered to become the MiniPlayer M7.
Quoting the following specifications:
"16:9 2.8 inch 480*288 resolution touches the screen
External dimensions 48*89*7mm"
He also estimated a possible release within the first quarter of 2008.
Once again he mentioned the image he provided was a quick Photoshop mockup of his own but that the official design would be much more attractive.

I know it's pretty obvious, but that looks like a Zune knock-off. But if it will come out, I expect it to be better. (Probably will) If it is a hard drive based player, I think I might get this over the M8. Tough choices, tough choices.

This one must come out, Meizu needs to add more players to its lineup... 3 (including m8 that is not even out yet) players to compete with a full lineup of 10+ in several competition cases is not as good as it should when getting new customers.
Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

they need to take that, get rid of the meizu logo, extend the screen, make it a touchscreen. bam ur in business

I think the M6SL should be the M6SE and the M6SE should be the M7 with a Wide Screen. If you are going to make a player that is capable of 720x480 pixel resolution at 30 FPS it should have a screen resolution that makes full use of it.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsBut the M8 is made to be a phone and communications device. the M7 should be made to be a PMP, and be done like he said, with an accurate touch screen that fills the surface of the player. That would be cool.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI'm with you on that, nice2know_u... I don't want them to throw out the M6SE design for something that could be made into a PVP instead. Keep the M6SE coming, and put this thing out as the M7 PVP as well.
It would make sense, too. The M3 as an mp3 player, the M6SL for those wishing to have some video functions in their mp3 player, the M6SE for those wanting more video, but still want focus on the mp3 playing abilities, the M7 for those wanting a full blown PVP focusing on video a lot more, with the audio still jsut as good, and then the M8 as the PVP phone.I swim through a sea of stars, without looking back to shore...

I think it is a good move and see more value in a player with the M6SE capability utilising a widescreen LCD.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsSee my post in the other topic about the fact that a touchscreen means you have to be holding the player in your hands, probably having to use both hands for that for its size, and looking right at it just to adjust the volume, pause, stop if there is that, turn it on and off, or go to the next or previous song.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsDear all, I guess this is how the new Meizu M7 looks like (http://www.emgeton.com/product96.htm). Only few days ago pictures and specifications of EMGETON M7 CULT (MEIZU sells under the name EMGETON in Europe) were posted on several websites and is already offered for purchase from numerous e-shops.

that is not what the meizu m7 will look like. It is a rebranded teclast t39 player which they have called an M7 cult, it is in no way connected with meizu.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIf so, then my apologies...anyways it is quite strange that EMGETON selling MEIZU's MP3 players in Europe uses identical series brand names as MEIZU in all cases (M6, X3, E3 etc...) but M7 is an exception.

yes it it quite strange, not sure why they have done this, very confusing. The firmware and hardware on these players are also totally different, it doesn't look good when trying to create a reconisable brand and family of players. I do hope both meizu and teclast stop selling rebranded versions of their players, I think it just undermines the brand and stops people recognising the company.
