I always wanted the miniplayer to have a full screen. If this is really going to be the design you dont have to make it a touchscreen-player, though. You could player buttons on the side. That would be a decent choice regarding design.

If the touchscreen software and interface is good, I'm all for it... but if it's going to be poorly programmed, I prefer a few buttons. Just my 2 cents! I'm sure Meizu will be able to do something creative if the M7 does indeed become a reality.

I can't see why these things are popular? I can't stand the tin-can like (don't know the expression in English, well basically it's bad ) sound of those built-in speakers. I see no problem in lending my earbuds (always carry some cheap ones around) to let my friends hear an awesome track.

Back on topic:

A 16:9 screen would rock, but please no touch screen! I prefer a touchstrip like the M6's over a touchscreen. The biggest problem with a touchscreen is the stylus which always gets lost and scratches from the stylus. If the touchscreen is stylus free, the problem is even worse: Imagine a fingerprint on the place where you just tapped to start a video. Offcourse you can wipe it away, but you'll have to do it after everything you do on it.

I do agree that devices like the M8 would rock with a touchscreen. You can do numerous tasks with them, and a touchscreen makes it more intuitive to use that. A PMP however works just as well with a touchstrip, it's simple and you know where everything is and what it does.

please no built in speakers in the M7 or any of the new players
they just make the player bigger, sound crappy and drain battery...

a built in speaker for me is a reason not to by a portable media player...
i hear earphones to listen to my music in good quality so why do i need the tinny sound of low quality built in speakers?

F*** the built in speakers!!!
That's for people that haven't ear or ability to listen real music... people that needs the damn player to show others how impressive is miniaturization... in other words, to search for others approval for the smart investment it was done

some people have more than 2 friends ..

The only time where built-ins come handy is when you want to show a clip with sounds to a group of people. Most of the time this does not involve music, just speech.

I agree no internal speakers, after market plug in speakers are everywhere and affordable. But I would like to see an second earphone/line out socket, often want to share music with partner/friend, and carrying extra earphones is no problem
