I'll never trust Meizu again!

Hi all,

I was a loyal Meizu consumer. I bought two of them! One M3 and one M6. I even used to write here and praise their product.

But.. Today my M6 died. Two weeds after my 1 year warranty ended. The battery is empty and when I either plug a charger or a USB cable it refuses to start charging. If I press the ON button I can see the loading screen but then it shuts down once it reaches the menu.

I thought it might be a battery issue, but frankly the player wasn't used much at all (my wife used it) and if it dies after a year then I can't really trust it. I'm pissed. and sad..

*edit*
I see more ppl are experiencing this.. Tried hard reset and more advices and now it's not even turning on anymore. Completely dead.

And why won't you trust Meizu ever again? It's an electronic device. All kinds of electronic devices fail.

ah, you should have just reinstalled the firmware: Turn it on, connect it to your PC, put the two firmware files in the root folder, leave it a few minutes connected to the PC (so the battery can get a bit energy), disconnect it, restart it, and when you see the "updating firmware" (or similar) reconnect it to your PC (so the player can get its energy from ypur PC). You may have to put the ressource file on the player after that again, but it should work after that!

Hm...my m6 still works, not being used anymore though.

The touchpad is feeling detached from the device itself. It also makes a irritating click-noise when I move my finger downwards on it. Also "calibrating" it is something new to me as I need to do it one in a while while never heard of it before. It's minispeaker is halfbroken, works only half of the time. I keep getting electroshocks whenever I put in the USB cord for powering up, which is quite a shocking experience. Because of this I think that the back metal place is somehow connecting to the circuits because my backplate has 2 dents in it that keep getting bigger for some reason.

Yeah, I probably have a bad m6 sample in my hands but the problems only came after the first 6 months, little by little.

Current age; a bit more than a year -> but I already replaced it with the Touch so I don't really care.

Steve: Having failed exactly a year after the purchase make it less trust worthy.

If the clerk at the shop you bought it would've told you "hey man, there's a chance it'll die in a year from now" would you buy it then?

Seeing it happened not only to me proves it more than just bad luck.

Hendrik: That could've worked if my computer could recognize it as a device. But it didn't.
M+power didnt work as well.

I wouldn't care what the clerk would say. It's an electronic. It might be a lemon, and it has a chance to be defective.

I can live with a defective product - one that you recognize instantly after you buy it. Cause defects happens. But failing after a year is just really annoying and you can't do nothing about it.

Besides, you can't compare it to a fruit. People don't buy cases to their fruits. They don't buy crystal cases, talk about their fruit in forums. Not to mention the cost. I paid $260 for it a year ago.

LOL. I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist xD. Wow, that was funny. What made you think SteveMB93 was talking about the real citrus fruit? It doesn't even make sense in that context.
