Ok, I know someone wrote about this previously... and I did read it... the thing is.. I do not know what the root directory is... or how to open firmware... As far as I know, I have the latest firmware. I have had the player for just 5 days... and I have the Green / No Resource screen.... I did try to download the firmware as someone had the link... when I did.. it said that it could not open and asked me to choose a program to open it with... I do not know what to choose... I have been to the Meizu.com website directly, but .. of course.. I cannot read anything there. Can someone please guide me in this....

First off, The program that i used to download the firmware was WinRAR here is the link i got it from.

Its free to try not sure how long it is free for but i've had it for about 3 weeks now.

After you download this then download the Firmware agian and there should be two files.
here is where you can get the firmware MEIZU MP3 PLAYER

the two files should be resouce.bin and for me i had (M6SL.ebn this file you don't need)

once you have those take the resouce.bin file and put it into the root of your Meizu

to get to the root just click My Computer then click Removalble Disk and now you are in the root, some files should show up like Music Video Picture etc.

Now Copy the Rescouce.bin file in the root

Thank you for your help... I had just found out about the software... and done all of that.. and nothing happened... I came here to see if anyone responded and tried again... this time I removed the one uneeded file.. but nothing happend.. When I extracted the files, I had them go straight to the player .. I did not have them go to my comp.. then I cut and pasted them... Also, the file just shows a white icon with multicolor squares on it.. is that the way the icon is supposed to look?

I am going try again...maybe extract to the comp first then copy to the player.. although I do not see where that should make a difference...

I do appreciate your help.

PS. I tried a third time... after I deleted.. and dowloaded the file again... when extract.. I click extract and update.. Is that the wrong thing to do? I am afraid to click extract and delete... will I loose everything?

Was about to give up.. then decided to try a different version of the firmware. I was trying 2004.6. I tried 2004.4 and that worked. I think this is the firmware that came with it anyway. All of my files and settings were deleted, but at least I got the thing on.

Not sure why the 2004.6 didnt work the only thing that i can think of is that maybe you used the wrong firmware

For example lets say u have the Sl version and maybe you used the SP version of 2004.6

Anyway glad that your meizu is working
