Couple of questions for all M6 SL owners...

Hi all, I'm thinking of passing my M3 to the wife and buying an M6SL for myself but I have a couple of questions for all M6SL owners out there.

1. I often use the M3's onboard mic to record speeches but the M3's mic and/or circuitry puts a low-level electrical background buzz/hiss on all recorded files. It's not overbearing but can be annoying on recordings with low voice levels. Can someone tell me if the M6SL is the same or is its voice recording cleaner?

If someone could compare the M3 and M6SL voice recording quality and sensitivity it would be a great help. My previous Iriver IFP-290’s voice recorder was more sensitive and much cleaner than the M3, for example.

2. Related to the above for impromptu voice recording; what is the boot up time for the M6SL? That is, the time it takes for the M6Sl to be ready to play from first starting it. I've read it can up to 15 seconds, which sounds long.

3. Headphone output levels. The specs for the M6SL on Meizu's website rate the headphone output level at 690mV@32O ohms which is almost double that of the original M6 (according to the specs on their site). I have read, however, reviews of the M6SL stating that the headphone volume is LOWER than its predecessor. Is this right? I'd have thought that the 690mV output on the SL would make it easier to drive larger headphones?

Thanks for your help.

3. The mV rating is quite odd to me, usually output is measured in mW IIRC. In any case, if the mV or mW rating is higher then usually yes, it makes it easier to drive larger headphones.

However its quite odd, if the output (in mV) of the M6SL is double that of the M6 TP at 32ohms, thats a lot louder than the original M6. For properly driving large headphones though you'll most likely want to invest in a portable amp or consider the iAudio D2 with its 38mW/channel @ 16 ohms.
