M6 vs. DA-M4-04-MZ2 and others

I must admit...you have a good forum going here. Very useful and full of info.
I'm considering getting a Meizu. After looking around EVERYWHERE, I am still confused - is there a difference between what is sold as a MEIZU M6 and a Dane DA-M4-04-MZ?

I've read the thread on how to interpret serial numbers, but obviously I have not bought one yet, so I can't analyze anything.
For example, on a major electronic retailer website, they are selling essentially two different Meizu 4GB players - one is listed as an M6 and the other is Dane DA-M4-04-MZ. There is a 2X difference in price.
Are these the same player?
One description says the M6 plays Xvid format videos, the Dane DA-M4-04-MZ2 plays AVI. One us listed as playing OGG, the other isn't.
Can they both be upgrade with the exact same firmware? If so, is it safe to assume if upgrading to the latest Meizu firmware will get me the exact same specs (audio, video, etc...)?
I'm really confused....any help is appreciated.

The Dane Elec DAM404MZ2 is the same thing as the M6, it's just rebranded and has better warranty because you don't have to send it to China. I believe they use the same firmware.

Dane-elec uses a different firmware, but the official one is compatible with the device, as well as the skins.

Yes. Every now and then, a new firmware version is provided for the 'old' M6 (TP version) and 'new' (SP). Also for the M6 SL. 'We' are all using them.

Advantages: no lower volume limit and FM radio is available!
