Best earphone for under 10 usd. Futuredaps.com - Kanon MD-52 (Powered by CubeCart)

You'll love them, trust me. Better than the EP-630 imo.

You can hear it especially on human voice: it sounds as if singer stands behind a curtain, with a voice of someone caught cold. Mid-bass way too much, supresses everything else.

It might be OK for certain type of music (totally electronic perhaps), but huge disappointment for any nice acoustic recording...
I have EP-630 and I will agree with you there THK. Creative EP-630 is properly not more different than CX300. They are too just one big disappointment, actually the most disappointing earphones I ever have. I can't see why people loving them. Just because of the "boom boom" bass? No way! That’s not good enough for me.

Sony MDR-EX71SL is good and far better than EP-630, but PT850 is still the best I have tried.
You should at least have one of these.

If money is no problem maybe you should also take a look on some Ultimate Ears. they are not cheap but some people both inside and outside Meizume say they are great too. I am now looking after some of these.

It all comes down, like 'The Torminator' said, how much you are willing to spend. If you are rich, you could go for the most expensive earphones in the world, and no one would stop you.

I was surprised the M6 headphones were not crap at all ; not very good but 'decent' ; I like the Sennheiser MX500 which are incredible value for the price ( 15€) ; you can then shape quite easily the sound with the M6 according to your 'preference'

on my Cowon D2 , I can almost come to a (different) sound I like as much as the one coming from my HD595 ! indeed we speak here of processed sound not true high end HiFi, which is quite beyond any M6 or D2 anyway, so processing is a bit inevitable on such devices

I don't want any bass boom boom thing as someone mentioned, I listen to a lot acoustics and rock music mostly. I can spend around $25 I guess - I would spend more but what's the point? They will probably die after few months like my Meizu ones did - just because of putting my player into pockets etc.
