Is the SP model replacing the TP model?

I'm confused by the rough translation of the article on Meizu's website - it seems possible to interpret that the SP will be a "student" model, whereas the TP will remain the standard model with the Deluxe being the TP + accessories...

Do we have any further information to explain this one way or the other for sure?

Thanks!

Yes, it is true. Even the Deluxe bundle contains a SP player!

Oh, OK, that's good. I have a black SP in the mail - I'm really looking forward to it!

Thanks!

wow TP are limited editions? cool!
i originally thought that SP versions would be much better, due to the cheap price and brighter screen etc. however, once the word "limited edition" comes into my head about the TP version, im glad i bought the TP version in time

I thought the only difference was the manufacturer of the screen.

Did I miss something in the specifications?

Well, everything is a "limited edition", else they'd be making them forever.

ROFL Overdrive yeah i guess ur right
yeah the screen is pretty much the only difference
and the other difference is in the firmware - u cannot apply TP to SP models and vice versa

You are wrong - T version is for players with Toshiba LCD, S version is for Samsung LCD. No other difference )

Yeh same here, but maybe the value of TP models will increase and we can make much money by selling it.
Maybe not

guys, i wouldn't bet on it. electronics generally lower in value as time passes. let's not get our hopes up. :D let's just enjoy our TPs while it lasts. in a few more months, even weeks, there'd probably be another meizu product that we can drool over.

and we'd completely forget about the TP vs SP feud.

well, marcelo said that meizu would continue to release TP firmware for a while yet. in any case, even if they don't, i'm already pretty happy with my TP so i wouldn't really mind very much if they do stop releasing firmware updates.

heck, i had my iriver for... almost 3 years and i only got 1 lousy firmware update. i still loved it, though. :D right up to the time that i replaced it with the miniplayer.

They hit our Czech market recently too, but I haven't seen anyone with it yet. Other players that are cheaper, smaller and longer-lasting are on the market for several years. They play open formats and are mass-storage. I never understood why do Americans buy Apple products so much.

As the firmwares are largely the same I dont think meizu minds much putting out both..
They write one basic source code and adapt it to be a TP or SP...
shouldnt be too much of a problem
