I've tested the battery life under real conditions -->

TP 4 GB
2.002.3

fully loaded the battery: nearly 2 hours

let it play, skipped the tracks, watched the EQ for some seconds, just the ordinary things you do (no videos, no pictures, no connection to a pc for extra power). Switched it on and off and noted every minute the player was on. Only mp3s, mainly constant bit rate, between 128 kbit/s till 320 kbit/s (mainly between 128 and 192 kbit/s)
After 20 hours and 3 Minutes the battery went totaly empty.

That's not too bad! The figures manufacturers give seem to be 'best case' scenarios (i.e. "guaranteed not to exceed" ). That's why they say "up to" I suppose.

DAPreview mention in their test (see http://dapreview.net/e107_plugins/co...?content.296.9 ) that a Meizu with a firmware version older than 1.009 lasted 14.5 hours in a test similar to yours, Hendrik. So there is a significant improvement with the newer version, of about 38%.

That's a very interesting test you did, by the way! Thanks!

Yeah, and they also say that's in 128kbps CBR MP3 with no buttons touched, screen turned off.

I just wanted to start my own thread and then there was this thread ...

Yes, I think this test procedure is way better then "let it play and stop the time"

Just a few more details: I needed 14 sessions with an average of nearly 1.5 hours each. In fact: longest play time in one session was 3 hours 55 minutes and shortest 25 minutes.

after 7 hours and 15 minutes the battery sign was at 3/4, after 11 hours and 10 minutes it fell to 1/2, after 17 hours and 50 minutes to 1/4, after 19 hours 20 minutes it was empty and the player shut down after 20 hours and 3 minutes.

The player is approximately 7-8 month old.

20 hours playtime without recharging is quite good, I like it

Thanks for doing this test!
I would believe a member of the forums and customer of the player much more than I would believe the manufacturer of the player.
