you can also add VGA video recording to the camera specs, it's in the manual, although didn't say anything about the frame rate.

I'm very interested in a review of the M8
Is something about the battery life known? (Standy-By, audio, etc.)
Has the Meizu M8 actually an SD card slot or something similar?

I'm really hoping that they're going to come up with a 3g version at the end of the next year.

No USB in 2008?
So, 1. how to put something (music) inside the phone? 2. Always need to have charger near me?

It says a USB host which means that M8 could act as a... well, a host for usb devices. Here's an example: you have a camera and you can connect it to your M8 and the phone recognises the camera and allows you to copy your pictures for the camera onto your M8.

Thanks for the explanation. I really started to worry about that.

The first post says that the M8 is quad band, but the meizu website lists only 900 and 1800 bands. I'm in the U.S., so that would eliminate the M8 for me.
I assume the official website is correct, but I'm hoping someone here might know better and can tell me that the M8 is actually quad band (that it is a mistake on the website). Pleeeease?

what do you think, can we expect newer versions of the M8 like the M6 had. I mean first came out the SP version or whatever, then later it had quality issues so they released to SL one, then TP. Do you think the same can occour to the M8 too? I dont mean the 2nd gen M8.
/OFF
lol tonight i dreamt with M8. I went down to china by car(!) then bought an M8 before the official release(!) in a macdonalds(!) :D I guess i want the phone too badly :P

Hey folks! =)
I'm one of those guys who heard about the M8 the first time 15 years ago (kiddin ' =D) and forgot about it later on.
Now I'm looking for a new smart phone. Actually I'm not sure about what kind of phone this should be yet, but atm I like "allrounder phones" like the HTC Touch HD (multimedia, internt, business) the most.
As I read that the M8 will be released soon now, I was interested in this phone again, but there actually are some facts I rly don't like at all...
So why does the M8 not have a radio (license probs I guess)? Or will the european unit have it? And what about tv out? For me, this rly is an important point (the Touch HD doesn't have it neither -.-*). Both features were announced first afaik and now I'm pretty disappointed.
So does someone know, if there will be a 2nd generation pretty soon? Or will the european version have the radio (mb just disabled by software?)?
Thx for any kind of info. =)

Gabest, that is a funny story about your dream man. What's worse is you went to McD's to get it. Did you get a big mac while you were there.
Want extra fries with that M8. Go large maybe??

:D now i cant remember it, but it was something like a hot chineese babe(like on m8 photos) gave it to me in secret, in the macdrive :D but i cant remember any more details :P
ontopic: i just noticed M8 will miss EDGE too. GPRS will be incredibly slow. I thought EDGE will still be there This is the only disadvantage of M8 for my taste. I cant wait for the 2nd version...

The networks is different on the official website. It has 900 and 1800 MHz. Perhaps it cannot be used as a cell phone in some areas out of China.
According to the discussion on the forum of Meizu, there may be two types of M8- China and International. International version will not have mp3 support but wifi.

I believe JW already said, that it's still quad-band, they just haven't applied for the rest of the frequencies... same with edge, and bluetooth. Wifi is disabled by software too.
