Looks nice actually.....

oh the phone, not the girl? err...yeah looks good too imo

< just release the damn phone, and make it 3G while you're at it >
No 3G nowadays belongs more to a cheap $50 phone, not this side of the market...

I have to say I think that the M8's GUI looks a lot nicer than any of the other touch based iphone competitors on the market. The 2 screens we have been shown look far better designed than all those touch based cell phones from the likes of Samsung and LG. I have to commend Eico, from what I have seen they have done a great job. The GUI really has it's own style now, which despite what some people have said, does not look like the iphone IMO.

I have to agree though that these posts are kind of annnoying as we are probably not going to see the M8 for a long while, perhaps not even before 2009....who knows. I would really like them to get on with it and bloody release the the thing!

Not sure if that comment about what people have said in relation to this looking like the iphone was directed and myself and Traps, but if it was you should re-read what we said. We were talking about Meizu's choice to revert back to the old ' PHYSICAL' design which is basically apples design. If you are referring to sites such as engadget, then I know what you mean.

Just noticed that the cursor is gone!

Anyway, kudos to Eico for making such a nice GUI and shame on Meizu for going back to iClone design rather than three-button one, which was much more original and simply looked better (imagine it in white!).

After seeing some PS-jobs and fanwork recently, Meizu could so easily move away from the iClone look by changing the color of the phone. They've already done a great job on the GUI to make it less apple-ish such that it's about as similar to the iPhone as the LG Voyage and such, but if only they differentiate the color a bit. I'd love one in dark metallic blue. In fact, I would love it if they went with pearl color effects and metallic paints. Doesn't have to be too wild, but a pearl-white paint job would be killer. Or a dark red color like Merc's metallic bordeaux red. Alas, that probably won't happen.

There is a company that will custom paint your iPhone, for more than it costs... Just the paint job is 400USD... Who in the right mind would even buy that service? I suggest you use painter's tape to cover the screen, camera, button(s), and earpiece, then spray paint it .

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for anyone who chooses to do so, and do not do unless you have covered a Meizu M8 in paint before.

I love the option of colours and other customisation.
But rather than have any phone 'painted', I much prefer to use a designed rigid or soft cover plate.

I guess it will be easier to open the m8 and just take the parts u want to paint.
