iphone 3g will never destroy the m8

apple just fucked it up they advertise for a low price.
but u have to read between the lines.
you will get the iphone 3g for ~199$ if you sign a extremly expensiv contract and only if you sign up for the operator for the first time.
i live in austria and there are only 2 operator which sell the new iphone
"t-mobile"
and
"one".

tmobile (note: everything only for new registered users.) =
basic charge 35€ (0 c to all netoworks, 25 per sms,incl. data volume and visual voicemail) ->
8GB (149€), 16GB (230€)
basic charge 45€ (0c for all calls, free sms, incl. data volume and visual voicemail) ->
8GB (99€), 16GB (179€)

CONCLUSION: WAY TOO EXPENSIVE

one (note: everything only for new registered users.) =
basic charge 10€ til lend of year (after -> 25€,sms 25c,calls 0c)
necessary "iphone pack" 14€ (including 3GB data volume + 100 sms)
8GB ( 149€), 16GB (229€)

CONCLUSION: PRICE COULD BE ACCEPTED.
but i estimate that almost or even more than the half of the austrians are registered at "one".

if you're allready registered at one, there are bonus ranks called
(0,1,2,3,gold,platin)
they are sorted by the years since you last extended your contract to get a new phone. So its for example 2(2 years ago), platin (5 years ago).

0 -> 8GB (519€), 16GB (599€)
1 -> 8GB (499€), 16GB (579€)
2 -> 8GB (379€), 16GB (459€)
3 -> 8GB (299€), 16GB (379€)
gold -> 8GB (119€), 16GB (239€)
platin -> 8GB (99€), 16GB (219€)

like i said most people are allready registered and the least are on gold or platin. I'm for example at 0, but the most are at 2 or 3
so look at the prices that almost deception of apple and all mobile phone operators.

WITH THAT LONGLONG POST I JUST WANNA GIVE YOU A REALITY CHECK.
DONT GET BLINDED BY THIS FAKE ADVERTISMENT ALA STEVE JOBS

That is why people at first loved the M8. That's the reason why I because a fan of the M8. It is supposed to be cheaper than the Iphone and you don't have to have a contract with a company. You are free to do what you want.

Well for me I have verizon and I pay roughly $180 (after taxes and the other BS) a month for a 3 line family plan. Its 2100 minutes for 3 lines unlimited text, photo/vid messages, nights and weekends etc. Its roughly $150 per month before charges.

Now at&t plan that would fit my needs is $110 starting out and then another 30 to add 3 lines equaling 140. Now add 30 for family unlimited txting and your up to 170(before taxes and BS charges) so figure $30 for taxes thats 200.

Now if I were to switch to At&t i would pay 20 more per month plus an activation fee and whatever else they charge to get started and activate a iphone. Even considering the 200 price for it vs 400 for a m8 in the long run the m8 will be cheaper. Meaning the staying with verizon would basicly save me enough to make up for the m8 price after 10 months. Thats not including ATT activation and BS charges so go figure which is cheaper for me. But this is my situation obviously.

Verizon plan
180 per month x 24 months = 4320 + m8 cost roughly 400= 4720

AT&T plan
200 per month x 24 months = 4800 + iphone 200= 5000 (thats only the 8gb and no activation fees)

So go figure......

There's nothing for the iphone to destroy at Meizu-camp in the first place dude.

True, contracts in some countries are killing, so to speak.

Yeah, if you had to sum AT&T up with one word it would be joke.

Sorry guys, too tired to write anything in english :/

Exactly why I'm sticking with my iPhone on T-Mobile until the M8 comes out. I only pay $53USD/month after upgraded data, text, and taxes. 3G coverage is spotty in my area (along with other shockingly large portions of the US) anyway, so it wouldn't be much of an upgrade..

People don't realize that
A) It costs more than $199 after you sign that overpriced 2 year contract.
B) 3g coverage sucks, theres a good chance you won't be able to take advantage of the faster speed anyway.
C) Your current iPhone is pretty much the same thing at this point.. Apple just added features that should have been there to begin with (as per usual with their sales formula) and changed the case color. (I know lots of ignorant current iPhone owners will be rushing to get the 3g just because its the new "thing" to have)

My motherlanguage is german.

Basically what i was trying to say, is, that if he wants to, he can cancel his contract at 'one' because they changed the boilerplate contract. If you don't agree to them, you just cancel it.

But i don't think that 35€ or 39€ (depends on the provider you choose) is too expensive, especially compared to other countries.

masc that depends on how much you phone people.
my contract is called 699, i belive its for ppl who dont use their phone much to call other people ;D.
so if you phone much the "große plaudertasche" is indeed not so expensiv, but not everybody phones that much.
So its only a good price for people who phone much =/
