Buy M8 even if more expensive than iPhone?
Would you buy a Meizu M8 miniOne even if it ends up costing as much as an iPhone?
Please explain why or why not.
Personally I would, because I've been waiting quite some time for a device that can do more and allows me to carry less. Sadly, the iPhone can not act as a music player for me, due to its ridiculously poor sound quality.

I would too, because I've been waiting for it quite a long time, and I don't like the iPhone as much... and of course the sound quality is very important, and I'm sure I won't be disappointed in Meizu

I wouldn't pay as much as the iPhone is today (about €400 in The Netherlands, if imported by others, maybe a bit cheaper if you'd import it yourself). Why? Because the upgrade isn't worth it for me, I'm happy with my HTC P3300/Artemis and will only buy a new one if it's a bargain (and I'd miss the GPS-function dearly )
The M8 at the price they tell it's gonna be isnt as much of a steal as it was a year ago, but it's still a decent price tho. (more than the iPhone isnt my idea of a decent price)

I wouldn't get it, if it becomes more expensive than the iPhone.
This is because I already bought myself an iPod Touch with which I am very happy and already own a phone. As for the entire mobile experience I will be getting a laptop as a student soon, so there's really no need for an "expensive" M8 for me. :P
I feel like I wasted enough time waiting for this device anyway, and price was one of the major things that attracted me to the m8 in the first place. Atm they will probably cost you just about the same.
EDIT @Error:
Try putting your EQ on "rock", doesn't matter what kind of music you have. It should improve the sound in general, it sounds much better imo.

well....I have put perhaps/maybe. The reasons I put this was because it depends on a couple of things. The main thing is how well the software/hardware on the M8 is implemented and how well they integrate.
If the UI is very sluggish and the device is very buggy then I will not pay as much as an iphone will cost and may not even get an M8 at all as I won't spend that kind of money on some buggy c**p. However, if it works well, has a smooth well implemented interface, the core functions are well executed and the bugs are minimal then I may consider paying a similar price to the iphone.
Tbh we have to be realistic, the M8's interface will not be as well executed as the Iphones and neither will the software/hardware integration. Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot. A small Chinese company like Meizu, with very very limited experience of making complex communication devices and GUI's, can simply not compete with one of the largest and arguably the best software/hardware and GUI manafacturers in the world.
I think the build quality on the M8 will be good, my main concern is that the UI will be sluggish and the multitouch will not be well implemented. If huge companies like HTC cannot get their touch interfaces to respond as well as the iphone it makes me wonder how Meizu will pull it off.
However the M8's increased and differing functionality could still make it a better option for me despite the fact the GUI may not be as good. One thing is for sure though, if they pull this off to a high level it will be a truely remarkable feat IMO.
I still think that if the M8 is released on time, at the suggested price and works well then it will still be better value than the iphone even in aug/sept. However iphone (offline) prices are dropping fast and by aug/sept a 16gb iphone may actually cost the same as a 16gb m8 (if it comes out on time). The real competition will come form the 2nd gen iphone. If the offline prices are low on the 2nd gen iphone, I could see the M8 not really getting a look in outside China and be written off (with a big helping hand from the western media) as just another cheap clone with nothing to offer. The M8 will still sell in China whatever apple is doing.
Unfortunately I do however think that after Wong's recent comments we could see more delays.

Apple products are very expensive compared to the power and features you get. As the m8 is a competitor of the iPhone and Meizu is not a well known brand in Germany I wouldn't spend more money for the m8 than for the iPhone.

I voted "maybe" out of 3 main reasons:
(1) Just like sere83, I will only buy it if it's worth it;
(2) I'm not rich and there's a limit on what I would spend on a "nice to have" that I don't really need. If the price is too much for me I might give it up altogether;
(3) I want to wait and see if it gets distributed here, as I'm not sure that I want to import it (considering the price range and the fact that it's a phone, customer service is important to me);
EDIT: the iPhone's price itself will not influence my decision. It's a nice product (despite the poor sound), but it's not for me :P
