J.Wong 3.5 UPDATE NEW!

cause the original one is too long to be stored in system database, I have to create new thread for those replies.

It took lots of time on achieving multiple-touch.

'Cause multi-touch is still under construction, so the locator and coordinate on touch screen is not accurate, and that affects demo, speaking off installation on demo prototype. But we will absolutely and completely finish that in the April at latest.

something about Completion of software, for all the modules are given out to small teams in the company, and then combined together when finished. Though there is on one see the accomplished parts, they are nearly done.

I really want to give up this time for CeBit, but tried at last. I knew that is in big hurry, and not perfect, but anyway, that may be an explaination to all of the guys who are caring about Meizu.

Plz, few more time, we must finish a mini one even more perfect!

----------------------------------------
The 3 buttons are good, no change anymore, but true production will be much better than this, for example, 3 keys of true one will be absolutely flat. And the color on keys for identifier is too obviously, when putted on producing line, the better technique will give you better buttons, believe in me, plz.

----------------------------------------------------
the first thing we need to do is to catch up others in aspect of technique, and then talk about the art design and excelling.

For all of us, the first and foremost is achieving techniqual function and performance, when we got enough profit from sales of M8, we will have more resources, then can invite the best global designer to rebuild UI, cause there is no need for any change when M8 settling down all its hardware and software problems. We can also take full consideration on both advantages and faults of others' UI and operations. This is a procedure we must cover up, no shame to tell, and even no 2nd path for short cut.

This is just like learning walking when you are young or studying in schools, all of these are mimic and learning procedure, and then after forming unique thought(creation), and the posiblitiy to surpass others.

There is a famous byword: art originates from simulation. we need cover a road of simulation, exceeding and creation, of course not copy.

M8 will be better and better till perfect, and then we will publish more better productions. We have a plan, to change the layout of domestic mobile market, and achieving billions of output value in 3 years, then ... start to do something about stock, and the 3rd 3-year plan. We believe in that Meizu will take off from M8!
-----------------------------------------

The reason why it is not influent is 6400, it will be better for 6410.

The low responding sensibility is caused by temporary Synaptics touch flat( only 3 inches available area) which has ordinate bias, that means, system knew you pointed, but it considered pointing is in blank area or not corresponding icon, therefore no responding for pointing. But it will be soon to finish the specific touch flat for m8.
---------------------------------------------------------
Display screen is sample, too. It needs color adjusting. And in the demo it still 16bit color.

----------------------------------------------------------

That's not a prototype, understand?

That's just a model at most to let all of you know the effect when m8 opened up

only the operation on mainboards has some really meaning.
why not a prototype? The only diffirence to mainboards is just touch screen.

-------------------------------------------------
defination for prototype is the sample while developing cycle, and there are many prototypes till the mass producing.
------------------------------------------
When the day we have lots of resources, we will invite lots of foreign employers to work here, so there will be a good english language environment to do some training.
-------------------------------------------
prototype circuit uses Quantum touch screen, so is the mainboards, but Quantum touch flat had some problems that we couldn't solve at that time. We changed temporary Synaptics touch flat , and connected some jumpers of it, then covered with black tape(that means insulation tape in chinese). Main board area is large, but the prototype area is too small to use tempoary jumpers. It was yesterday that the engeer who took the flight from British Quantum helped us solved all problems, but it is too late for expo.

Nice post Looyea

Makes very interesting reading.

Im still deliberating the whole M8 subject although, overall i think that Meizu has a very bright future ahead of them.

I do like Jack Wong's posts, he comes across as a very honest man who can admit if he and the company have had issues with the release of the M8, i cant imagine any other CEO talking on forums quite so frankly, fair play to the man

Regards

Russ

yeah for sure, as I said in another post I have been quite harsh to Meizu over the last few days. But after seeing the protypes at ceBit and getting such honest feedback from Mr Wong I have a new respect for the company and really hope they suceed with the M8 at least in their own domestic market and hopefully abroad too. Shame about the release date though, would love to see it earlier.

well I have to comment on this as well - sorry.

OK - the CEO is honest, that's nice. But: if I could not trust him I will not buy anything. The stuff I dislike at most from his comment: "if we sell a lot of m8, we can hire better GUI designers..."

Somehow I get the feeling, meizu wanna make easy money with stupid guys/gals buying a bad designed phones. Frankly, I have no motivation to be one of them.

Not to get me wrong: I like the m8 (still), but somehow the CEO is very strange and unprofessional...

I think you translated it wrong. I think he meant that the GUI will be better once they have the financial resources because the M8 will be a huge financial investment for them.

Excuse me, but I fail to see the "honesty" of a man promising things he's unable to keep (M8's specs which were announced and then cut bit by bit, M8's release date which were prolonged and prolonged and prolonged...). Not to mention him being the head of a company that makes a living of ripping off Apple's bestsellers (M6 -> iPod, M8 -> iPhone...).

^^^^^ did you not read this? he is well aware that he has taken significant inspiration from other products like the iphone. It is not dishonest to encounter a number of technical difficulties along the way (which he has mentioned many times in other posts) and have to put back the release date a few times. Do you know anything about tech? this happens all the time with products. Cowon's A3 and Q5 saw significant delays of many monthes. I'm sure he was not intending the M8 to take such a long time and to be delayed so much. I don't think you have any concept about how much money apple pumps into research and development. Apple is worth over a $150 billion!! do you know how much Meizu is worth? It produces only $50 million worth of players a year so must make a miniscule amount of money when compared to a monster like apple. How can you expect them to compete in the market with and also be able to create a product to match and compete with the quality of a company like apple's products in a shorter time frame (iphone took 2 1/2 years the M8 has been in development around 1 and 1/2 years). If you ask me they have done pretty damn well. The mistake they made was to announce it so early but again many of the technical difficulties were unforeseen.

Glad to see these kind of ... prototypes :P
No, honestly, at least they are still working on the M8. I think I will buy a cheap but stylish phone for this year (I think the M8 will be available in Q4 ...) ... maybe an Alcatel OT-V770 www.pocket-lint.co.uk/utilities/galleryview.php/NEWS-12994-3d5648ddd58bec88e44a223aec4cc790.jpg No fancy specs, but slim and stylish (and sensor keys for the keypad).
Let's wait for Tangmu's interview. Hopefully he can provide us with more details we want to know
