I guess we all know what the price in China will be, but the discussion was about overseas pricing.

I have a friend coming from China in 2 weeks... what problems might I encounter if I have him import me one? Can I just flash it with US firmware and everything will be kosher? I know sometimes places will have crappier components/build quality for their local versions but will send out better stuff to other countries... do you guys think this is a possibility? (Shipping the good apples out, etc.)

You will face no problems as all versions are the same.

Back on topic, will the prices for the M6 4GB also drop when March 1st comes? $200 for the M6 8GB is a bit beyond my budget, and is one reason why I'm waiting for the M3. I hope the M3 8GB stays $110, according to the old news.
oh, then that is qute important for playing it on a speaker, do you mean tho, that you ca plug it into the headphone bit even if it didnt have lineout but it would be worse quality?

another question. what is line in recording?? does it mean you need to plug in a mic or soething and doesnt it have its own?? do people really use these

do most mp3 players have both of these features?

I just bought the 4GB M6 from Walgreens two days ago, not knowing the 8GB would be released. I'm probably going to swap it out for an 8 (once I finally get it, Walgreens takes 5 days to ship), but here we are on March 1st without any news. Does anybody know what is going on? Has the thing been delayed, or are they going to...I dunno, release it over lunch?

I seeee. It wasn't said anywhere that the chinese release date was going to be different than the western one, but I suppose I should have guessed. Alright, well my situation is that there are fifty thousand annoying people at work and I have got to have some music pretty soon. So it is going to be four gig or nothing unless the 8 is released in the U.S. within the free walgreens return period. Any word on the U.S. release date, or even a standardish sort of time period that it usually takes? Less than a month, I pray but do not belive.

Also, xx-c: you say that the T version costs more than the S version. I'm assuming you mean the TP and SP. I have read multiple times that there is no difference between these two versions of the player - the SP is less expensive because it has a different (though equal quality) screen, but besides that and the price they are the same. Is this not true? Or perhaps I am misinterpreting what you mean by S and T?

Ok, I just looked at the site. I'm can't read Chinese well, but my understanding is that they aren't SP and TP, but Standard package and Deluxe Package.

If I remember correctly, the Deluxe Package comes with the extra battery pack and a few extra goodies.

my guess for a US release date is 3-4 weeks after the chinese one.
How long is the return period at wallgreens? probably not that long right?
Here in holland depending on what store you buy it at its 21 days

Thanks for the quick replies!

Walgreens will let you return it for 30 days, so while it might not be long enough to switch players without a lapse, I could return it on the last day and deal with a week or two of no music to get up to 8gb. As soon as anybody knows the Western release date - make it known!

Normally, in North America, even if you do return it past the 30 days they will give you a refund (or gift card) if you really make a fuss.
