Design contest: 5 Meizu M8 up for grabs!
Meizu and Chinese tech portal ZOL are jointly holding a design contest. The goal is to create print-media advertising for Meizu. This time, Meizu CEO Jack specifically wanted to involve the international community and has made the contest open for all.
The winners will be picked through a voting system on ZOL. There will be 3 winners picked for creativity, and a winner each for visuals and fan-favorite.
Rules & guidelines- The advertisement must contain the Meizu logo.
- The advertisement should be in line with Meizu's corporate image and have an element describing features of the Meizu M8.
- When submitting, also include a description of the central theme of your advertisement (100 words minimum).
- All entries are to be submitted in .jpg, with production-quality versions at hand, if needed.
- Plagiarism and piracy will not be tolerated.
- Contest is open until 11:49PM Bejing time on Sunday, March 29.
- Submit your entries to karen [AT] meizu.com. Make sure you put "Meizu M8 ad entry" as the title of your email. One entry per person!
- Shipping will be paid by Meizu.
To aid you, we've uploaded a package with high resolution Meizu M8 graphics. Now go out there; have fun, and represent Meizu Me well. Applause awaits on success!
Thanks Karen & xcmir!

Since the painting was made in 1519, I think the author has lost copyright over it already.

I see no reason of them not providing a Wi-Fi version to international contest winners.

Wow, how are they going to manage the avalanche of entries they're about to get?? Photoshop is practically an Olympic sport in China.

I doubt that Meizu will go out of their way just to make units with Wi-Fi for the contest winners, most likely they will be the production units. We can be hopeful though . I'm surprised Jack Wong took the initiative to do this sort of thing for their international fans as well. That's good thinking on his part.

sounds good, might have to submit something, chance's of winning are pretty slim though considering the chinese forums got about 20 billion members (obviously not but you get what I mean).

Hi, sorry if this is a stupid question:
What is the definition of "production-quality"?
How big, what resolution and what format?
Thanks.

Rabsi, if you have no idea what the question is about please don't try to answer it...
@Royals_ranger
It's kinda strange they didn't specify any of those... I think I'll be making it with at least 300dpi and A3 size. I guess the format doesn't really matter, but PDF is usually the standard when it comes to print.

I re-checked the Meizu.com forum and answered my own question and a bit more information:
2.When submitting your ad, please include a description about what your ad is trying to get across (message). You may also like to include your praise and outlook for Meizu and M8. (Must be atleast 100 words)
3. Please make sure all your images are of high resolution,When sending the files to karen, make sure the images are .jpg format, however make sure you still have a copy of your original high resolution ad.

A question.
What happens with the images that have not gained the contest?
There is no clause of conditions that says it to you, and in absences of them it is an acceptance of the same ones.
In short, Meizu and ZOL remain with your work, the possibility of reproducing them in any his product and of having all the rights of the work.
For them this work is free, and it is difficult nothing to them to give 5 Meizu. They save themselves in hiring an external company and paying taxes.
Why the mail address goes to karen [a ] meizu.com and not an account created for such a end?
Example: prix[a]meizu.com

Thanks Error
When a contest does to take part I do not start looking in the forums, but it has to come in the first part of the contest to facilitate the information and if it is for the whole world apart from the fact that it is in Chinese (because at first it was for this country), but now also it would have to come in English.

I think it takes way too much thinking to understand the message.
