Meizu M9 to use same firmware as M8

Meizu CEO Jack keeps leaking tidbits on the upcoming Meizu M9. Just a few hours ago, he wrote on the company BBS that the Meizu M9 phone will run the same software as the current M8, with the only difference from M8 being in hardware and the software drivers required to run the different hardware.

In the same posting, he also mentions that the development of Meizu M9 would finally give the now idle M8 hardware engineers something to do.

As previously stated, there will be two versions of the Meizu M9 that are designed for the CDMA2000 and TD-SCDMA networks.

interesting, wonder what cpu they will use. The win ce 6.0 platform is a solid base so once they get the fw solid the M9 could be a very useful device. Shame about the standards they have adopted, I definitely won't be getting one as the CDMA2000 standard is not used here in the UK. Still think they need wifi too, just wish they would take a more international approach instead of focussing on china only. I guess financially it works out better for them just to focus on China. Probably much easier in terms of staying within the law too.

From today´s view I think they will not use same or similar firmware and I am sure they will change from what they call "mymobile" to win mobile. If they want to become international, they can solve the Sisvel problem by doing so, but that is not the main reason.
