Meizu Begins Work on the M9
Having just recently officially launched the Meizu M8, Meizu is already busy with their next phone(s).
Earlier today, Meizu CEO Jack announced two versions of the Meizu M9; M9c and M9t. M9c would support the CDMA2000 network while the M9t would run on the Chinese 3G network TD-SCDMA.
No futher information is available at this time.

What! this is madness.....Well I hope they can pull it off , but first of all they may want to think about making a little something called an mp3/4 player, as they used to make a few, although it seems they may have completely forgotton about that. There is also the small matter of the M8's software issues too. Knowing Wong though I think we can expect these M9's in 2011.

I'm not sure the M8 is so different from the future M9. I definitely think it should be out within a years time max.

yeah it could be possible, despite Meizu's terrible time management. I think though by Q3/Q4 there will be phones on the market with CPU's that obliterate the M8's, so if they did chose the same cpu it would be looking rather dated. Although I still believe Meizu chose well when they opted for Win Ce 6.0 as it is releatively future proof. Then again I think by Q4 we will be seeing some very nice new OS's like Palm's Web OS.
Unfortunately it looks again like these devices will be focussed very much on the chinese market.

JW already leaked his support of TD-SCDMA, so no surprise with the M9t, which will be the bread-and-butter model since TD-SCDMA is China Mobile's playground. CDMA2000 will be run by China Telecom, so in addition to that, I guess the M9c is also the 3G bone Meizu tosses the rest of the world.
Beyond the connectivity, I'm sure there will be no evolution in essential hardware and the 3G versions will be out by the end of this year. Meizu is going to do their best to time the introductions to the wider rollout of 3G services in China.
Once again, though, it seems Jack Wong can't resist playing Jesus to his adoring apostles. You've got a flawed phone "officially" released two weeks ago with little of the promised ecosystem in place (and 16GB...hello??)
...and you're already leaking news of its successor??

IMO Meizu M9 will be the same good old M8 with CDMA2000 and TD-SCDMA. It is economically and technically the only reasonable way to go, specially if the M9 modifications will appear within 1 year from now.

I'm wondering if the CDMA version of this phone will work on the USA sprint network. They are CDMA as well?

Be happy! Meizu isn't great on deadlines, so you buying one now is much better than waiting on something that isn't going to be released for a while.

I'm quite sure it will have similar hardware, maybe not exactly the same as the M6 has had 4 revisions (T1, TP, SP, SL). So very likely Meizu will use cheaper materials if available, and maybe better hardware as well. I'm also quite sure that it will probably be very similar to the M8, just better in connectivity, and maybe some other things such as camera, screen (doubtful), etc. Also, knowing Meizu with deadlines, this will not come out anytime soon.

I've read in a german post: german google translation- that they'll be three version the m9c and m9t and the m9-with UMTS. Is this true? This would be great news, because we do not use CDMA in Germany (think so).
Can anybody look into the original post?
Thanks,
Kruemel

A bit hard to verify when they mention no source whatsoever. Can't find the author either. Aren't they supposed to be established & respected?
