Not necessarily everywhere, but a lot better coverage than 3G, and faster speeds as well. 4G hasn't even been officially defined yet, so we can't be sure, but we should be looking at a 2015-ish launch. I doubt it will take Meizu that long to release the M9.

for all info, M9c (CDMA2000) already cancel by CEO J.Wong after survey by JWong in Forum results show than demand for M9c less than 5%, TD-SCDMA got 60% and WCDMA 35%,also CDMA2000 phone need pay royalties more than 100usd and than make M9c no market competition in china compare to TD and Wcdma (hdspa), M9w (M9wdcma) will be first M9 come out. engineering sample expect 4 quarter this year. follow by M9t (M9 TD-SCDMA) 6 month later

I'm not familiar with all the various standards - but TD-SCDMA is a standard only for China right? and Wcdma (Hsdpa) is available worldwide - mostly and China Unicom?

Whatever the standard winds up being on the provider side - given the environment of capital in the markets now, it obviously won't be upgraded anytime soon (2-3yrs maybe) - but the time frame to launch the M9 just seems too far out - unless it came with some seriously upgraded hardware.

The original idea that it would use the M8 hardware (with slight upgrades) and just a different telephony chip, would seem like a terrible idea one year from now. Sometimes i forget we are in 2nd Quarter already - but if Meizu says engineering sample by the end of the year and they can meet that target! that means practically a phone will be launched in say 9 months - and i am not even going to get into Chinese or International issue. By that time people will be more inclined to wait for the M10 !! (or should i say MX)

I am glad though that there is a trade in program (who knows if it will be honored by that time) I'm not normally one to trade in/sell my used stuff but in this case i would definitely go for it.

There will be a trade-in program? It would be interesting IF the M9 has wifi ability. Not sure I want to lose my wifi.

knowing meizu...
so, only one version then? might speed up the process a bit, and since meizu already have a template (M8) it (should) happen faster.
