Mine is based on the Retro NES game, not the game boy game. I have a different background than yours; I made it from scratch.

How to put the theme on the Miniplayer? Just put the resource.bin in the root directory of the player, and restart the payer? Or do I need to make an new firmware update while using my resource.bin?

Correct, copying over resource.bin and restart is enough.
