on topic again, ok?
i have a question: will this "messenger" include voip functionality, so we can place skype calls when we are near a wifi hotspot, becouse that would be really cool to be able to make calls for free when near wireless internet, or does windows mobile support skype/google talk/msn voice natively?

@Graymalkin:
I'm not sure if you just missed the CeBIT pictures and videos altogether, but even if Meizu failed to present a working real size prototype, they did present quite a bit of hard evidence.

Maybe this is the first time you're following an in-development product, but SimonePMP's post is actually a very accurate description.

Not only did I see the pictures, I was there. And as I stated in another thread: What Meizu was showing there was nothing a 13 year old geek with a decent smoldering skill couldn't have put together as well...

Really peeps, I don't know how long you're riding the M8 train, but I was there since it was first announced in January 2007. That's one year and three months.

One would believe that in roughly 450 days of development they would have something more solid to show than a mainboard with a few components smoldered on it. Makes me wonder what they had in their hands when they announced the initial release date (was it Q3 2007? Deja vu anyone?): The order acceptance of the part's manufacturers?

As I said, seeing is believing. I believe it when I see it.

Ask Meizu, nobody knows

Sorry, to go offtopic once again (What? I added something on-topic :P)

Oh trust me, back in January last year just about nobody on this forum got the feeling Meizu was presenting only a "concept phone". It even had Q3 as releaseperiod and "real-life" pictures released after -> what kind of concept phone do you call that? Unless they "hid" that single detail from us.

When it is finally released it will still be compared with the products at the time of the announcement, not the current ones just because it has already gone through the "comparison process".
I understand your point if we're talking about a few months here, but I don't feel confident that reviewers will compare the m8 with 1,5 year old products when it comes out.

However, Meizu is behaving quite well to be a fully chinese company: they are understanding well the dynamics of the market and of the industry, avoiding the classical errors that too many times make chinese companies to ship things incomplete and not good enough to be really successful products.
Again, I understand your point to some agree. However you are already concluding that the m8 will be a great product, which is something nobody knows yet.
And you forget the other possibility -> that they just damn underestimated making a product like the m8 and had great delays because of that.

Wow, I don't know of any 13 year old that could do that! Not just a geek, but a 13 year old engineer. The M8 has taken more than expected, but I'm sure if Meizu wanted a rushed product they would have released it by now. The CPU, I think, will be well worth the wait (667MHZ), that will also cause part of the delay because they are not fully producing them yet.
