It is JUST a non-stable prototype... I think it uses the 6400 processor, not the 6410 which they're planning to use (J Wong said that the 6400 can't produce the desired effects because of the high resolution, and as you can see it's a bit slow ). Maybe this is the reason they couldn't finish the video and the camera part.

To be honest: I do not want to have a phone consuming the full cpu-task only for switching options... that would imply:

I) Only 2 h max of battery
II) very bad programming skills

Btw: For normal, you will get development boards simulating the ability for a new CPU/GPU (I think that is what the big mainboards are). So it is not an argument to have the software not optimized (just see e.g. X1 from SE).

Holy shit, I just watched the UI demonstration video...

All i can say is that was PATHETIC! The fact that they couldn't even make an almost working prototype motherboard thing was just pathetic. I don't see why they promised so much for cebit if they couldn't deliver.

does the prototype have actual 480x720 resolution on the screen? how sharp does it look? (youtube video does not do the screen justice i think)

I'm not so much criticizing them because they've achieved so little. I'm criticizing them because they made promises they couldn't keep, and kept up the lies until the very last minute.

For a while there, I was really interested in the M8, but it's really just starting to look like an out and out iphone rip off.

Read the latest J Wong replies here, and you'll know why the development board is buggy.

Tut Tut superpope53

i dont know why people are making such a big deal out of it, there only 'crime' is to have speculated on a release date - im glad that they delayed rather than releasing a substandard product, which some companies or known to have done - such as microsoft which most of use use on a daily basis.

And the part u said about it being a iPhone rip off is just ignorance

regards
