New Firmware, 8GB M6 Coming with the Boar

The Chinese year of the Boar begins on the 18th of February, a date which Meizu has said to have a new firmware ready by. Not much is known yet, but this new firmware will allegedly boost current battery life rated at 20 hours to a whopping 36 hours!

Meizu are now also preparing a 8GB M6 miniPlayer and planning, once again, to lower the prices on the current 4GB model.

Finally, new M6 players are already coming with Meizu PT850 earphones instead of the previous PT800.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

Above is a picture comparing the PT800 with the PT850. Specification-wise, I haven't been able to find anything. If anyone could, it would be appreciated.

That is really good news error. But I wonder if batterylife is software related.

    I have PT850 headphones, they came with my 4gb dane-elec M6.
I belive they are 16ohm, since they have the hiss problem. (not very loud, so could be 32ohm as I read somewhere)
Other than that they play quite nice
Mine are entirely black, and looks to be made of smother plastic than the ones in the pictures.

Jozefakie - optimised decoding could give you longer play time.

    but 36h? that's 16h more. I can't believe this is firmware related.
Maybe they mean the (improved?) 8GB M6.

Anyway, It's great that they give us a new firmware, but I can't wait another month *sniff*. I hope they were inspired by our ideas for 1.011

These are the specifications of the PT850:
    Impedance 32 Omega
    Sensitivity 113dB
    Biggest power input 10mw
    Frequency response 20HZ-20KHZ
    Ties TPE 1.15 meters

As the English Translation of the site (http://babelfish.altavista.com/babel...417%26page%3D1) is not too good I couldn't really understand everything it says, but is there a possibility to exchange the old pt 800 in order to get the new pt850?
    Maybe any Chinese here?

#10 you can register at the site, and get the stand, and the headphones.
Thats the same site I saw when looking for the specs last time.

The sound is more complete than comparing to my old mx400 which has a muffled bass, and nearly complete lack of the higher tones. (maybe why there is no hiss) I think I bought them in 2001 so they are pretty old...

#13 seems that the babelfish is sick...

#15 properly a little cheaper than the 8gb ipod nano.

hmm... battery life is more than welcome but how about the other features we've all been wanting? (album art, lower noisefloor for TP players =P )
    Current Rigs:
    8GB iAudio 7 > Not in use
    4GB + 32GB iAudio D2 > Alessandro MS-Pro
Sony MZ-NH1 > Headroom Total Bithead > Grado Labs PS-1
    2GB Meizu M6 T1 > Not in use
    8GB iPod Touch 2G > Shure SE530

omega is the same as ohm, even the ohm symbol is 'omega'

Anyway, increasing battery life by 16 hours is pretty damn good by just tinkering with some binary numbers

yeah...exactly my thought... 16 hours extra by just adjusting firmware seems a bit incredible...right?

Would be great if true but I wouldn't be surprised if this is related to a new model...
Anyway...I want the new one too!
and the musiccard in case the other break hehe

I bet it could be done... if they made it so your screen shuts off instead of dimming for the time you enter, which would be highly annoying in my opinion. I don't know how they could increase battery time with the firmware, because you can't program parts to use less energy than they require to function, and they wouldn't run properly if they were already taking more energy than they can use.

This kinda sucks, hearing about an 8Gb M6, though, because I wanted to get an 8Gb flash player before I got my M6, but got this 4Gb one because of all the good I heard about it. Now I spent $200 on something when, if I just waited another month and a half, I could have gotten what I truly wanted. It kinda sucks to me, at least, since I don't really have the money to buy a new player, even every year.
