Sorry, guys, no album art~~~
Meizu is planning to launch a super slim(thin) M6 version(6.9mm thickness). And it is said that M6 has a optimized inner design(I mean the circuit~) which I think will possiblely be adopted in the following versions.
And about the Music Card(M3), Manager Wong casted a poll to determin whether to reduce its length, which in this way, will lead to a loss of RMB2,000,000(for shell moulding). As a result, M3 will be launched at the time it previously claimed. Soon though they will release the shorter version.
楼上的,竟然也跑来这里顶帖子了,哈哈~~~但是这里好像不是交友论坛,别让这里给水了。。。 。

totally! make the thing smaller so it wont look as an "Ipod clone" as much.

that way it will be much more attractive for those looking for an ultra small player yet with the capacities of a normal flash based player...

right now its a nano-imitation.... it could be a shuffle and nano beater..

Ill take one if they change it...ill stick to just my M6 if they dont

Yes, I agree.
And the dimensions for shorter M3 version is 39*78*6.9mm from original version 39*81*6.9mm:D :D :D

I think Meizu is devoted to listening to users' opinions and this will enable it to earn good reputation as well as produce good players.

I don't get it. How is the M3 like the iPod? Is it because it has a screen, comes in colors white and black, is vertically rectangular? Meizu have already changed it since the prototype designs and right now, at least I feel no resemblance to iPod anymore.

The GUI, navigation, front layout, size, weight, dimensions, backside material, and much more are different.

Err..., I will answer Job's question, but right now i need some sleep now. will edit this post tomorrow~~~

And Error, Yes, there are differences, but still like an ipod sort.

Ok, first we take a look at the circuit board of M3(From Chinese site, so please wait patiently for loading)

This is the picture posted by J.Wong, who commentted:" Look at these thickly dotted components/Ics, then you know how difficult it is to reduce its size while ensure good performance." And this comment is based on the standard version, not the shorter one. So reduce 3mm more is not a little case for them. They need cram a big screen, an enormous battery which ensure 20 hours playback, and the heart of the device, circuit board, and moreover, this device need to be able to play music, Fm tuner, Picture viewer...

Acctually, Job, you may creat a document in your Photoshop or similar software as the same length and width as M3, then you have a direct image of how small it is, don't forget, it has a screen.

And from the optical point of view, the tiny the thing is, the big differences can be noticed even only several mm's change.

The last news i come acrossed this morning is that Meizu will adjust the prices of battery charger, battery case and silicon case in China respectively from RMB68(Recharger and battery case kit), RMB38to RMB49(Recharger and battery case kit), RMB19, but when they will execute the new price and whether will be carried out in foreign markets is unsure yet.

And they also plan to rise the charger's electric current from 0.8A to 1.0A which was said "make preparation for M8".

I'm not that sure.. You say that they will add OTG-support because of demand from users, but that they won't add Album art. As far as I've seen Album art is a much bigger issue for most users than OTG. There has definitely been more talks about it on these forums at least.

What I don't get is why they won't open source the firmware. I think we should start a campaign against Meizu to get them to open source it!

There are many reasons not to go open. But please do not go off topic, there is a dedicated topic for that here. I advise you to carry on discussion / start a campaign there instead.

I did not mean to derail the discussion. It was only meant as a side comment. I am fully aware of that other discussion.

Agreed, but, remember they have a strong market in China, we're proud owners but not the target market. If they're adding OTG and not album art by popular demand could be due to lack of interest on Chinese market

Ah, yes, of course you're right. I'm sure we are a pretty small part of their user base..
