Exactly, but the ORIGINAL QUESTION did!

Well it's factual not "whatever"!
Just READ the question and it's replies before you reply!

The question was never on a "Kernel level" but more of "Is Win CE compatible with WM", the answer is NOT by no means it is THOUGH one is built upon the other!

So to MANGELS, the originator of the question I recommend you see the "Relationship to Windows Mobile, Pocket PC, and SmartPhone" part here:
Windows CE - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I actually did that a long time ago and I forgot what the original topic was.

Anyways, I was always looking at Linux as a best way to create a OS with a custom UI. Android would be a very good option for M8 but it's still in early stages of development. Besides that there are a lot of controversies about the low level API which won't be accesible by developers (at least in the near future).
Meizu could've taken a Linux kernel, take X.org, write all the drivers or use the existing ones, and write a UI in Qt for example. That's a very good, advanced, stable, and well supported graphical library.

Ok though this really has nothing to do with the topic/question at hand.
There's plenty of threads about the OS and UI separately.

The first post doesn't have anything to do with WinCE either so...
This whole thing went completely off topic somehow :D.

The M8 is a Win CE device so I don't see how anything M8 wouldn't be WinCE related and vice versa.
