The Music Card M3 Gets Changed

It seems Meizu has noticed the amount of people upset with the prototype of its latest offering, and has issued some quick changes. Below are all the juicy details:

• The back will be made of a shiny black metal.
• The round button will be touch sensitive.
• The GUI will be completely different from that of the M6.
• The hold button will share the same top-left position as the iPod Nano.
• Recording and Photo Viewing are two functions that can be confirmed to exist.
• 4GB to cost 699 CNY (90 USD), perhaps even 599 (77 USD). 8GB won't cost more than 999 CNY (130 USD). 2GB may not be produced.

The information is gathered from various forum postings by Meizu CEO Mr. J. Wong on the Chinese Meizu Forums, and below is a (translated) quote from the man himself.

"I didn't like the look of M3 in the beginning, but the more I looked at it the better it became, just like seeing the new BMW 7-series or the new Benz S-series."

I really want to see the shiny back on the back!
Hopefully they will think in a 12Gb version as well :D

ZOMG!!! only $90 for a 4 GB!?! Thats a $100 less than a 2g iPod Nano 4GB AND 100 less than a 2g iPod Nano 8GB! These things are going to sell like hot-cakes!

if the manage change the looks of it so much it doesn't look like shit.... but this a good start.. :D

at least changed the backing to black, giving a different feel from the ipod!

I think some of our skinners can get some new inspiration there A copycat skin for the M6 anyone?

Its nice to see Meizu are starting to move (slightly) away from apple's design, they need to establish their own identity and not begin chasing someone elses' shadow. =)
