I've always been able to listen to music and charge at the same time ...........

Just turn on the M6 start playing a song THEN plug in the charger into the usb port only really useful when hooked up to speakers though.

I'll upgrade tonight if only to try and stop it updating the music library every time I charge it.

I am rather confused by firmwares upgrades ...

I own 2 M6 ; a 2GB and a 8GB , both rather recently built ( summer 2007). then they both have a Samsung display

I do notice that 2.004 emphasizes quite a bit overall "boosted" display with more pronounced contrast, color staturation, etc..

oki , fine; but a major drawback is that it bring very pronounced artefacts , namely color banding and (dark areas) 'clouding'

its is very obvious that going back to 2.003 and ultimately back to 2.002 will *fix* these artefacts , thus establishing that the firmware upgrade is directly responsible for this

I am no ultra perfectionist , looking for some kind of subliminal detail, but simply point things as the average eye can see

does meizu try pushing too far what its lcd display can actually support , assuming amny people will consider artefacts as some 'inevitable' ..compression artefacts , while actually it is not

the differences between firmwares are so obvious that with 2.002 I have to put (video) britness down to 65 or so ; on the other hand NO britness setting (even up to 100) will fix or even only 'smooth' the forementioned artefacts

so what !?

Im so sorry i bought the meizu m6, in the reviews it could be clearer all the unbearable defects it has, whenever you plug it, just to add one or two songs, it updates automatically the library all over again, whenever you plug it to charge it a little bit, it updates the library all over again, which consumes a lot of battery when you have a library of 2000 songs or so.. and so many more defects that make me want to throw it away..

Ganzonet, the newest FW lets you cancel this process by pressing enter.

im pressing enter and its not cancelling but when i press the M it does. but upon cancelling it, i cant play nothing. its saying "Please select music for playing". is it my player alone or everybody is getting that.
eventually the player has to update the library. right?

The brightness setting can't do anything because it's just adjusting the output of the backlight. It has nothing to do with the screen itself.

But i have a VERY sharp eye and i haven't noticed any artifacts on the screen. When i got my M6 it had 2.003 installed, i've been through 2.004.4 and now running 2.004.5. I observe no visual artifacts at all, but i do notice that the picture is two lines lower than it should be. It's no biggie though, the two blank lines at the top of the screen are only visible on a very close look.

roryrudy, cancelling the update process will of course leave you with no updated libary, but I thought that any prior update would still be available.
Then again, I am not using the new firmware but the old one

Here is another solution to your problem. Unzip and place the following .exe in your Meizu's root folder and run it each time after you have copied new files to it. It will reset any "archive" attributes it finds in the folder and subfolders it is placed. Once you have no files with a set archive bit, there will be one update process to include the new files, and then never again (especially not with every usb connection) until the day you place new files to it.

Tip : create a shortcut on your desktop to make it more comfortable.

bobbyQ, thank you sooo much for this little program. Very Good. I like it.

Only one thing, it only works when detected as a removable disk (m6 is turned on). once the m6 is off and u charge it, it wont work.

Thank you anyways.

Another thing, which firmware do u have? And u say, when u cancel the update the prior songs are there and can play?
