if anyone is desperate for a touch screen mp4 just go and get a Teclast T39 because you'll be waiting a long time before the M7 appears
i think the t39 is ugly, i don't like the gui at all.
too bad meizu announces their products about half a year before they are finally available for purchasing... they should really speed up !!! i hope they don't cancel this too like the m6se for making an even better-looking player...

yep - i do agree with that - teclast interface is UGLY......
also there is the new Hacha PA20 touch screen player

the reason i mention these is to highlight the fact that Meizu are far to SLOW in bringing out new players, they try to jump on the bandwagon far too late

Meizu - dont even bother with the bandwagon, forget Ipod and the latest fad, dont bother making and IPhone clone, quit copying the ITouch and take the time to progress and produce a player that people actually want - not that apple say we want

as people have been saying meizu are moving WAY to slow. If meizu claims a march release we probably won't see this till may. By that time no one is going to want to buy a 2/4/8gb flash player when the market will be full with 16gb+ flash players for cheap. The truth is meizu just won't be able to compete in one of the fastest moving markets in the world. Sumsung already have the p2 in stores now which pretty much trumps this 'concept' an most fronts. Other companies like creative and apple and even cowon have 16gb flash players out already. The m7 is out of date before the designs have even been finalised. Does meizu have no concept of their market? seems like they need to wake up or get left behind. And a 2.8 inch screen? whats the point? watching a film would be pointless, you wouldn't be able to see s**t. why give support for h.264/mp4 up to 720x480 then put out such small capacity players. Sound to me like they havn't thought this through

I think that M7 is a good idea, nowadays a touchscreen is the winning choice for a new product, moreover it could be developed almost effortless, if Meizu would mantain the same structure of M8 (removing the unneeded, like gps, phone function, etc), thing that apparently they're not doing at the moment...

But the thing is, I've been following Meizu products for months, since I knew about the MiniOne (I'm interested in this product, rather than the simple media player), and what I can't really understand is the lack of a memory card reader!

To be clear, I would prefer a 2Gb model with microSDHC support (so up to 32Gb), than an 8Gb one, and I think it would cost less too, wouldn't it?

If there's any reason why they haven't even taken into consideration this feature, plz let me know, so I can resign myself for good.

A memory card reader adds bulk and additional circuitry requiring more energy to run.

That's my usb microsd reader (not microsdhc, but it's just an example)...do you really think it would add bulk?
As for the power consumption, I've not done enough research to give you numbers, but I don't think this would really be a problem

Let me just start by saying that I absolutely love my M6. It is small, practical, with an excellent sound quality. But the M7 is bordering on ridiculous. Some may argue against this but the fact is that the M7 is nothing more of an almost-exact copy of Samsung's YP-P2, at a lower price.

The M6 used to be individual and people would actually ask me about it and want to learn more about Meizu. I am afraid by the way things are going Meizu will soon be relegated to the category of "could have-been but ended up copying everyone else" Chinese manufacturers.

Very sad indeed.

P2 in design, iPhone/iPod-Touch in UI.

Look familiar? xD

I've read in the thread and others that Meizu M7 look like:
- Shitty iPod Touch
- Samsung whatever
- COWON D2
- an Old spaceship invented by the russians, etc etc etc
GOSHHHH.!!! as it there where too many options to design a screen showing titles of songs.
To all this creative user... just wait for the capabilities of skinning that surely M7 will have ... AND THAT NONE OF THE OTHERS WILL EVER OFFER!!!... make your own designs... and leave in peace M7 designers!!!
